Will head out to test drive here in a minute, with three kids in tow since mom's working. (11/9/5) all with ADHD...
Some dealers up north are posting these insane deals on their websites: local shows 63k for a lariat in blue. I'm really hoping i can talk them down to closer to the below number before trade in.

You'll have to let us know how the test drive went. Can we assume by the time gap that you're in purchase negotiations?

Good luck! I've been looking for a Lightning recently and found that every dealer with insane pricing like that is double stacking the federal tax credit.
Test drive was as good as promised. Three kids in the truck, one goes "dad at least it does not smell like burning oil like your truck" (I just had to change the vacuum pump which was leaking oil on the exhaust and into the cabin) I could smack him upside the head.
Wife insisted on getting a chance to test drive. so i brought the boys home to take my subwoofer/mirrors/dashcam/pickup shell off my truck.
Sales guy gave me a landline, so i cant text him which is insane in today's world.
Works out to a 61.7k "sale" price with rebates. I cant see whats in the 14k, they did say it's got the tax rebate as part of it.
plus 2.3k in taxes, no idea what capital VIP protection is but i aint buying it. 800 in admin fees and 500 for out of state fees (which is bogus as i'm in SC vs NC).
Wow, End of day and i have yet to hear back from the sales guy despite calling several times.
It's a 40 min drive. Just need him to respond. Carvanna offered 11k for my truck.
Call paramount ford in Valdeze. That's who I'm dealing with for my maverick. They're way cheaper than anyone else I talked to.

wish I had seen this. They sold the truck i test drove and every other new lightning today (manager said 22 cars today sold and I could see the change in the parking lot).
So I got there at 430 and just got home after spending WAY too long to do what should have taken easily 30 minutes tops. Firmly reminding me that i hate dealers.
the only question I have is whether to get the offered 84/100k warranty bumper to bumper for 4950. I feel like it's snake oil?
14k in rebates/discounts including the tax credit.
12k for my trade in (which was the top of kbb for the truck.) plus a 1k trade in assist (see above).
Side note: first offer was 8k for my truck, told them I got 11k from carvanna. They come back with 9k (and bring up the rebate they had already included). I try carmax online and get 12.6k. so they met me at 12k.
The sales guy has to drive to Wilmington NC tomorrow to pick up my truck and drive it back then get it cleaned for sale. So most likely friday afternoon before i see the truck.
Sales guy kept telling me to drive my truck home (45 min each way) and he'd swap out for it tomorrow. I refused. Call me suspicious but after already signign the paperwork. I dont dare tempt fate by driving the truck.
0% financing for 72 months (free money).
will need to order a camper shell for it, linex the bed, tint the windows.
Rumor has it that ford is offering a 2k rebate for charger installation that will be easily used for the above and installing the charger.

Not suspicious, smart and cautious.
