sorry for the off topic post, are you happy with that Jeg's plasma cutter? I need one and was eyeing that one.
Ive liked it a lot more now that i learned the proper way to use it.
It sucks a LOT of amps. It trips my 10 and 15 amp breakers regularly. It also goes through tios pretty quick. I did learn this weekend that the tips are reversible, so thats good! It also prefers to be in contact with the cut surface at all times. Id buy it again in a heartbeat.

I keep getting more and more excited to come to VIR. Thank you all for the relay.

I tossed some decals in the box if you care to use them.

Awesome! I love stickers.
This is awesome, I'm going to be following your build very closely! Between this and all the other stock car projects happening on this board, I'm getting more useful knowledge for my own project here than any other corner of the internet. I can't wait to see the finished product!
Yo MbDb I stubbed my toe on this thread......this is way kooler than the AMC. Great choice on the platform, do you have something other than a SBF to put in this?

Its actually getting a 5.3 ls and Saginaw four speed that i had collected for the amc. So, bot a ford!
Should be plenty of power while i sort the chassis.
Yeppers!!! the saginaw has some HP heritage.....can handle the heat ? What rear gear are you running?
In reply to 759NRNG :
No idea how it'll work out. But, it was cheap!
As far as gears: dunno yet. I had planned an 8.8 swap, but wound up with a $25 centersection for the 9 inch. So, options are open.
Cheap always presents many variables......just axe Stampster....wink
In reply to 759NRNG :
I'm not cheap. I'm a quality to dollars cost analyst.
I'd be arguing that it counts as a production chassis. They were produced by manufacturers as cars, after all.

This may be the greatest thing ive read all day!!!
I bought a tow dolly today. Transport just got way easier, and the dolly has brakes so its way less stressful
In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :
Worst case it'll run exhibition.
Im doing this on the cheap, but not necessarily do or die challenge budget.
If you get the Duster body on it then it's legal.
In reply to Stampie :
Exactly. However, may be over budget....
My mental math says you can strip it down to a bare Challenge budget. Hell you just need the following:
Chassis done
Body think you have a line on a $200 one
Engine/trans wag at $400
Rear end parts wag at $200.
That gets you to the Challenge at $1800.

Got any more angles of the frame? I'd like to see a side shot if you have one to see how similar this is to my frame.
In reply to jh36 :
Not yet. Today's goal was body off. Tomorrow if i get time ill roll it outside and get some while cleaning up the shop. Its really bothering me.
