I found myself looking for a daily that was a little more fun then my GTI. I had bought my GTI as I was looking for something that would be fun but practical. I eventually realized that being a single guy in my early 20's I didn't really need all of the practicality, and I really missed having rear wheel drive.

That brings me to my new to me 2014 370z. It's a touring model with the sport and nav packages, so it is as loaded as possible short of being a nismo. It came with a stillen cat back and stillen intakes. Hopefully this spring I'll add high flow cats an a tune to round out the power mods. I'm also planning on getting springs, better tires, and an oil cooler to make it a little more fun and reliable. The car supposedly has aftermarket sway bars, but I haven't had a look under it yet to check. Hopefully it'll make it to an autocross or two in place of the miata this summer.

So far I have to admit I'm loving it. It's quick enough in a straight line and amazing through twisty stuff. You really have to watch out or you'll end up doing much faster then you wanted to down a nice back road. It is pretty terrible on gas, almost impossible to see out of, and with the rev-match turned on I get tons of dirty looks from joggers while I'm slowing down and it blips the throttle, but it's so much damn fun. At the end of the day thats all I wanted, something that would make me smile every time I get in, and at least so far this has done just that.

Hope you get many years of enjoyment out of it. Can't really tell in the picture, is it black or dark brown/cherry?

That's damn sexy. The 370z looks so much better than the 350z, imo.

It's actually a black cherry color, but it's really hard to photograph. Depending on lighting it can look black, brown, or purple. I have to admit I know performance come first, but as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted it. It's not as fast as some of the v8 stuff (mustang or camaro) that I was also looking at, but it feels better on a back road and looks amazing. It was also a little cheaper then a comparable year and mileage mustang gt. At 2/3 years old are a pretty good value for the money in my opinion.

Well I've had the car for almost two months now and I can happily say I haven't been hit backing out of a parking space yet. If you've driven or sat in one you'll know that that is quite a feat. I've put about 4,500 miles on the car and done a 7 hour each way road trip and it has handled it all perfectly. Hopefully soon it'll get better rubber and head to it's first autocross. Sadly the intakes take it out of street so it'll be a little out gunned, but it should be fun none the less.

Buying a 350z was one of the best things I did when I was younger and single. The were new back then and I got complements everywhere I went.

Its funny though. i didnt stay single very long after buying it

P.S. I can only imagine the rear blind spots in the 370. I remember being intimidated for a short time when I first started driving the 350.

I don't know what part of PA you live in but I am a service manager at a Nissan dealership outside of Philadelphia if you need anything! I love the 370 still trying to convince the wife to let me grab one... my soon to be 3 kids don't seem to fit in it though... I had a G37x sedan with that motor and it sure was fun. Best of luck with it keep us posted!!

I got under the car for the first time and found that it does have front and rear nismo sway bars. They are the same diameter as the factory bars but have a thicker wall so they are a little stiffer. It's always nice finding money that's already been spent...
