I originally planned to build a 1987 IROC Z for this year's challenge. I am a slacker and never finished it.
Fast forward to two weeks ago. My buddy Brad bought a 2004 forester from the carmax auction. It aledgedly had a bad transmission.
As best we can tell it doesn't. We decided to autocross it five days after it was purchased. It did better than it had any business too.
In this picture you can see the prius wheels i bought off of Facebook for the car. Yes they are a really awesome purpley blue color.
The car had crappy paint. We sanded it down, in an attempt to make it less crappy.
We took the car to the local maaco Wednesday. Two days later we picked it up with a shiny new paint job.
This morning I swapped out the 16 year old factory suspension for a set of $350 chinesium greatness.
Racecar!
Then I pressure washed the engine...
Tomorrow I will detail the interior and clean up the exterior.
Wow that looks nice!
Please tell more about maaco... Surely its full of orange peel and overspray, right? Because from the photos it looks great
I've got an EL header that I would let go cheap, I'll even throw in an adapter I welded up for a WRX exhaust. Although I don't know if it would make it there in time for the challenge.

In addition to the NSX, the neighbor's Porsche is killer.
Here is a better shot of the nsx.
He actually is selling it Friday
He bought a 1998 Type R integra and never drives the NSX anymore.

Good gawd. That driveway looks like car-person heaven!
Pity it isn't an XS with the winter package, they came with a rear LSD.
It's still a great choice, though!
