That is a carter wcfb. Junk. But worth money to restorers of early 60s gm stuff with big blocks.
I found a scraper that worked a bit better for me than the switch plate, at least with the detail work around the thin ridges of the metering block & plate.

It was the guitarists' old band from the late-90's/early-00's of the last band I was in. They actually put out a couple albums on some minor label & toured quite a bit, but never really took off. They sure lived the rockstar life for a while though...

I've always been 100% clean and sober. I never thought the effects of any type of inebriation seemed appealing, so I avoided it. But damn if most of my bandmates didn't jump straight into it at one point or another.
That's GREAT, Most Bands I know of broke up after getting Sober, Just couldn't play the same, Tom Petty is My Fav. Sober band. Alvin Lee Is another, Wow, Just Two Bands come to mind, Got to be more though.
In reply to GTXVette:
I love Ten Years After, but never listened to much of Alvin's solo work. "A Space in Time" is one of my all-time favorite records.
In reply to GTXVette:
I quit my band shortly after I got sober. Turns out I can't sing as well as I thought I could, and that wasn't a good enough reason to keep doing drugs.
They went on to be mildly successful. I did not.
Day-67(2-hours):
I'll be busy packing up tomorrow night, and I didn't want to haul the carb home in pieces, so I finished cleaning it up and reassembled it - sans gaskets: I knew I was in a rush to get it back together, but don't want to rush final assembly. So I'll pull it back apart after I get home and make sure everything is correct before final assembly. I'm also going to use Evapo-rust on some of the crusty bits to clean them up some.
I'm not sure if I'll spend this weekend working on the Vette, or hanging my $15 Rural King LED lights that arrived this week though?

Now that's funny right there. To quote Jonathan Winters, but negetive of his meaning so much Money, so much Fun

I've always thought it would be fun to start a blues trio with a couple big hairy dudes & call it "Peter & the Twins"...except I lose interest about 8-bars through the first 12-bars blues song.
Day-68(2-hours):
I spent about an hour hanging one of my Rural King LED lights over my main workbench, which made a HUGE difference, then hung my bookshelf and got my "garage" books unpacked. These are all either for vehicles I no longer own, or ones I've never owned, but I figure odds are good I'll encounter one someday.
I did do a bit of work to the car. I'm actually holding off ordering more parts, as it looks like we might owe taxes this year. So I decided to look into the inop electrical issues instead. First I located & removed the ECM, I was surprised to see it looks clean without any indication of water damage. Since I won't be needing it the recoup value should help out.
I decided to try testing the electrics to confirm what is/isn't working - as I remember the power mirrors & interior lights worked, but the windows, wipers, and all exterior lights were inop. However, I discovered all electrics were completely dead...obviously everything was grounded through the engine block. Duh. So I clamped & jumpered all grounds together, but still nothing. So I'll need to dig a bit deeper, but my hunch is I'm still missing a ground somewhere.
Day-69(1:45):
I pulled out the original master cylinder & compared it to the new one. I was happy to see the new one came with the reservoirs.
I'm not ready to bench bleed & install it yet - I still need to rebuild the front calipers & install the front brakes, but I want to get the engine in first...
I noticed the brake switch was pretty crusty, but after cleaning it I think it'll be ok.
I also started removing the unnecessary EGR lines, but some of them are tied to the vacuum reservoir, so I'll need to do some research before I go too far.

Funny How long Two Day's can Be....
Day-70(1.5-hours):
I used the 3M abrasive disc on my drill press to knock off the loose & flaking paint from the valve covers, then hit them with a couple coats of brown Rustoleum "hammer-tone". You can still see most of the imperfections from the horrible GM casting & my spotty paint removal. I suppose I could have filled the pits with bondo & tried for a better finish, but I'm not even sure this paint will withstand engine temps.
Unfortunately half of the new Rural King LED light I'd hung over my workbench Sunday decided to quit working, so I guess I'll be finding out how good their return policy is.
