Wow, that's pretty cool.

Galane wrote: That's as weird as a convoy new of semi-tractors I once saw. Each one was towing two others, with the fronts up on the trailer hitches. All of them the same make and model, all totally black, except one in hot pink.
That is normal, that's how they deliver truck cabs, then they fly the driver back home. Except for the hot pink truck, that's not normal. On our way to Utah a couple weeks ago we saw one where the third truck had a compact car fastened to the back, apparently that guy didn't get to fly back.
Last week Benjamin Hunting from Road Kill dropped me a message about the R63. A few days later he called and we talked about the R and cars in general for half an hour. He was well prepared for the interview and I think he did a good job with the article.

Presumably that delivery wasn't going as far. I've heard of school bus dealers putting a hitch on the buses (and removing at delivery) so they can tow a "get-home" car with them on the delivery run.

That was a well put together article. Sad that there is not a picture of Slippery's tool though. (herp derp huh)
Ha. Very cool article. This has got to be the most famous GRM forum thread outside the community of registered users. Seems to have pulled in a good number of new forum members which is great. Welcome, everyone and please do continue, Mr. Deuce.

Slipperys tool is rather magnificent.
Like it, seems appropriate. Taking on Maserati biturbo level projects out of spite or sport represents my favorite aspect of GRM.

Mine too! Reminded me i havnt checked this thread in a bit.
mazdeuce, strange coincidence, I had an uncle with the same last name as you. (No, not deuce, your real world surname. ;-)
Coolest thread ever!!!
I was brought here by Roadkill, and decided to stay. Y'all are clearly my people...

Glad you found this place. I agree that it's a cool place.
To everyone else: had a good week with the family. Peurto Rico has some insanely good mountain roads even if you have to drive them in a Kia minivan. Gave me some time to think. I'm going to order a set of guides for the oil pump before I put things back together. I can't find any case of them failing but they're literally the only plastic piece that I wasn't replacing.
I had a close friend comment about how it must suck to spend so much time on the van. It really doesn't. Cars are my hobby. If I wasn't working on this I'd be working on something else equally unimportant in the long term scheme of things. At least this appears to be holding value as it sits in the Grosh. Can't say that for most of the projects I've had over the years.
Should have mentioned you were going to Puerto Rico. I grew up there and have been back a couple of times in the last few years. Wife unit really enjoys the place. What ya do that was fun?
Vacay is over...get back to buttoning up the Panzerwagon!
Beaches, snorkeling (with too many other people) hiking in a national forest and hike/swim down a river canyon in a state forest. Drove around. Had a dude chop lunch off a freshly roasted whole pig with a machete. Went to an art museum with Deucekid#1, you guys have a couple of impressionist painters that blew me away. Talked cars with the guy who took us on the river hike. He and his brother just started doing PCA track days in his brothers Cayman.
We had fun. I want to go back when I don't have to spend all of my time in the water watching kids to make sure they're still breathing air. Vacationing with four kids is fun, and I do like hanging out with them, but it's far from relaxing.
But yes, more car work. I need to get the insight back together. Get Deucekid#1 her driver's permit. Get ready for One Lap. Enjoying the journey.
