Along the trip I found some great places to shoot the car......
A vender and friend in the Phoenix area also has a Consulier GTP. We spent a couple days there going to Cars Shows and then replacing the turbo that was going bad with a upgraded ball bearing turbo. (Thanks TurbosUnleashed)
I'm so impressed you drove that car 8000 miles. I love it.
I wonder if there ever was a "factory top." They may have just put the bar in and made it look like a targa.
There was a top once. The story I was told, was when this was a promo car, someone driving it didn't click the top on good and it flew off and was run over by a truck. I have a photo of the car from back then with the top on it.
By the way, the white one in this old photo is now owned by my friend in the Phoenix area.
After a family BBQ get together in Orange, CA....we went to Las Vegas then back to southern California. Then we headed north on highway 101. We stopped and enjoyed many places on the route. Here is one from Eureka California....
We were so glad to be back home. From pouring down rain in the south to 115 degrees going through west Texas, Arizona and Nevada....thats a lot of miles! 8028 miles and were are back.
The RAIN option....a 40 second video of going through the rain in the Consulier.

It was a canvas top I made, with a aluminum frame. The canvas was held on by velcro. MY idea didn't work too well AND the canvas leaked too.
I need one of these in my life. So bad. I love how unapologetically eighties it is.
Also, I didnt see, but will you be doing anything with those recaros? Feel like selling them?
Did you see the August ISSUE of Grassroots Motorsports magazine?
Look at page 99 and 100. Articles on the Consulier GTP!
Went to a car show. Did not win, did not think I would. But people enjoyed the car. I enjoyed the show. Win! Win! This is a shot on the way home. Stopped near Waldport Oregon.
Wilsonville Oregon has a special cars and coffee on Sept 24th, this is a special Mopar one...Think I should take the GTP!
Of course, it would be great if you could go back and re-populate all the posts with missing pics. Go ahead and take all day tomorrow if you need it.
I think there's a plug-in on Chrome that fixes those missing pics. I can't get it to work on Safari though.
But it seems this site wont accept photos without using something like photobucket.
I tried using my own web site, it wouldnt work at the time.

Seems like it works to me. Just need to click on the picture icon and put the entire URL (with the file extension) and click on "OK"
You'll need to log in to post.
