break it in, re tune and re test, then RE joy
( see what I did there? :P )
I was in talks to have the car compete at Pike's Peak with another driver. Unfortunately the non-certified fuel cell is a no-go situation for them and a new certified custom fuel cell is not in the cards right now.
This weekend is the Burke Mountain hillclimb, which I'm likely going to skip. NIMBY'ism has placed the event at risk and resulted in a 90db sound limit. Rather than cause issues and drama (even with a presilencer and two mufflers) I'll be going autocrossing with the Sports Car Club of New Hampshire at NHMS. Should be a chance to figure out the handling of the rig and give me plenty of time to make adjustments before the next hillclimb in July.
Couldn't find a shift knob I liked, so I made my own
It's made from laminated wood scraps from the shipping container our new dish washer came in.

Yeah - I'd wanna get it on a set of corner scales and at least set the cross weights before 1st outing.
Taking my short amount of down time to clean things up. I touched up the roll cage paint and made the rest of the car white today
I had a 6" bullet muffler hanging around the shop so I added it the RX7. Now the exhaust is 6" longer. That's about all that was accomplished haha
Back into the daylight for a little wet sanding and prep for paint coat #2. I kinda like it without the font bumper cover.
First time messing with pie cuts. Made a turn down so the exhaust isn't pointed right in your face. Should help me make more friends at autocross tomorrow.

I will never know.
Looking forward to hearing about the autocross.
Congrats! I remember when building my old SCCA racer years ago, I spent a good 3 hrs on the track at PCA events in TX trying to get it sorted out before it's first race -- a 3 hr. enduro. Needed to give it a chance to 'break' stuff before the first outing.
Car was a total rock star all day. Definitely needs an alignment and work on the brake bias, but the rest couldn't have been better. Plenty of power even dipping to 3k in 2nd and more than willing to get sideways. The diff certainly needs help in the form of a Ford 8.8 IRS.

That's a good setup. I highly recommend it. Find an aluminum Lincoln housing if you don't have one already - I'd guess it's a significant weight savings.
I don't have anything myself, couldn't find the memory card for the gobro. I'm hoping others from the event will post things since I know a lot were taking videos and photos of the car haha.
There was a drift event happening in another lot at the track and a steady stream of flat brimmers heading into our paddock and asking to take photos of the car. Weird experience.

HOT DAMN!
I am usually the only one in fun prepared (FP) not very popular class in our region. 3 or 4 may run that class the entire season and only each make an event or two.
We group all prepared cars in one class and judge them on Pax. It ensures we have plenty to run against. There were 2 straight FP cars.
