Hi guys, I have been browsing this from for a while now and actually didn't sign up to long ago. With that being said I am just starting my first Exo Chassis build. To give some back ground, I am currently fabricator mechanic as a profession at the city I live in. I previously was a tradesman (Boilermaker) and a certified welder and weld inspector (CWI). I have been fabricating and building cars since I was 16 (I'm 30 now) from track Miata's to 1300whp Supra's. I am not new to making things fast, I am new however to building something like this.
I Built a 5x10 Table with 5/8" holes in the 1/4 steel top to have as my starting point to help build it from the floor up. Below is the pictures of the table, the Lower section of the chassis where the seats will bolt to. Goal is under 1400lbs and 400whp out of a K24 Honda or New gen Ecotec. I will be asking questions and looking for input as my build progresses. Thanks for looking and thanks for the future help!!

Is the table stiff enough that it stays square if you roll it to a different part of the shop?

What kind of seats are those?

Wow, it looks like you're off to a great start. If nothing else you could probably build and sell those build tables. Beautiful!

I see you have a chassis concept already complete. It looks good, but I'd like to relay a bit of advice I got from a judge back in my Formula SAE days. The chassis can be thought of as a big bracket that holds all your stuff where it needs to be. So the advice I was given was design your suspension, place the major components where they needed to be and then build the chassis to fit that. With building an At0m clone this seems like it's important with the pickup points on the suspension. Sometimes things end up being where they have to be, but that bit of advice helped us a lot. It made designing the chassis a little easier too since it was sort of connect the dots.

We all really looking forward to seeing your progress. Thanks for sharing.

I actually have the completed suspension in cad, its just not in that drawing. Its a push rod tpe with billet levers ect. Ill post some more pictures soon.

The seats are just mock up, but they are old Sparco sprints out of my old miata.

The table is made of 1/4 thick steel tubing and 1/4 thick top. flexing should be at a min.
