This is a loud sax.
(It's the exhaust off of this car.) https://youtu.be/RJPnFdch7HA
Seats are here. Also received new front upper control arm, so that's cool. I think the plan is going to be to just throw that on and my coilover setup, get an alignment, and deal with the poly bushings in a spare set of arms at my leisure. Bushings on the car look to be in good shape, i can pay for another alignment later.

have you gone consoleless yet? that pic you posted looks fantastic!.

Not yet. I have a buddy overseas that's working on making me the shifter boot bracket. Once i have that, i'll order the D-Technique tombstone cap/panel setup, and i'll make my own carpet. Thinking next month i'll put some effort into finishing the interior. Right now i just need to chuck in black stuff and move forward to try to be ready for the first autox of the season.
Honestly, i really want a half-dash setup, but i haven't really found any that are NB-based that look good, and i don't feel like messing around with an NA6 dash in my NB1.
So i think we'll just do the D-Technique console delete and some ABS door panels and call it a day.
As for space... the console doesn't take up a whole lot of space. In the NBs, i find the door cards to be the biggest offender of space. But, a nice bucket mounted to the floor, console delete, and flat door cards should give a LOT of room.
Mom has an NC and the cupholders in the door are truly a torture device devized to hit the soft spot in your knee cap...
Someone here showed how to move the handbrake out of the way for larger dudes. My issue is that the last time I drove a NB it was a 2002 ish one. I had to use my pinky toe for gas, big toe for brakes and just rocked my foot to use the clutch. There was no getting the other size 15 in there to move the clutch...
i was also 70 lbs heavier then though... so hoping that the 4" less ass I am hauling around would get me a few more inches of leg space.
Ohhhhhhh.... yeah. Size 15s will be a problem. I wear a size 9, and even i have only one or two pairs of shoes i like driving a Miata in.
Even in my NA, I barely fit with a smaller wheel, flat door card, and foamectomy. I like NB's a lot, but there's no way I fit in them with my dancer legs.

I'd say 1.6 dash swap, but the weird mix of retro and modern sits funny with me.
My 93 had an NB dash in it for a bit. Super strange, but looked better than NA dash in NB.
Eleventy Billion swag points.
Obviously necessary to get the car on the road.

Scrubbed every surface i could find with undiluted Purple Power. So gross. No rust! by concealer404, on Flickr
Wiring is all very pliable, no clips or plugs broke during disassembly, so that was cool.

Oh E36 M3. Blasphemy. Black interior in a 2000 SE? HORRORS.

Every Miata i've ever purchased has had some sort of horrible wiring mess. This one was no different. PO apparently thought it was easier and better to install a sub-par keyless entry system instead of getting a new fob programmed from Mazda when he lost the original. DERP. I no longer have keyless entry on this car. Sucks a little, but oh well, i'll live. Because race car. Removing yet another badly installed keyless entry from a Miata. by concealer404, on Flickr
You ain't never fraid to tear into the wiring of your cars are you?
You should have seen the alarm and keyless entry setup that was in my MX-6. It was around 8 lbs of MESS.
I have an open class DSM, though likely only for a short period of time as I have an interested buyer, that is the biggest ball of wiring mess that I've ever seen. pair of pusher fans, pair of puller fans, terratrip, intercom system and auxiliary lighting that can all best be described as a clusterberkerly
No, i'm not scared to do it, for better or for worse. For better, because i've substantially improved a few cars by diving in and correcting the sins of previous owners.
For worse, because i ruined the MX6 fixing (breaking) what wasn't broken.
Guess who just realized he forgot to swap in his Mazdaspeed pedal set while he had the dash out of the car?
Got some beef. It's what's for dinner. Currently making my Jeep smell really good. Especially when combined with a "Margarita" flavored/scented Little Tree. Man smells. Rs3s by concealer404, on Flickr

Interior swap is mostly done. Need to cut down some Eclipse vents to throw in the holes, make my door panels, and get some accordian pins for the rear carpets. Installed the passenger airbag blockoff plate. Wasn't as nice of a part as i expected. Next time i'll make my own. That said, it's crazy how heavy that airbag was, so i'm glad it's gone. Nah, gave up on that pig, too rusty. Did a little work to it to get the price lowered, then just told my buddy's dad to keep it. Just too far gone.
Trade lined up for a 4.3 Torsen in exchange for my stock 3.9 Torsen.
Wonder how much i'll hate this with the stock-ish BP redline.
