... that's where the only remaining fins were on the radiator. The openspace where you don't see the mothman are just that: open. Surprised I didn't nuke a headgasket.

Finally replaced the front endlinks. They were pretty rotted. REALLY easy to do, the old ones basically fell apart. Steering is waaaaaay better.

Trying to search for some cheap 16x7 wheels. I really want the TSW's back that I sold to assiesmg, but I may have found some cheap Panasport looking wheels that need cleaned up with a dual-drill bolt pattern. Probably picking those up this weekend to go with the 205/50/16 Star Specs worn to the bars for $50.

Pauter Rods en route..... Need to find pistons now.

Also, if I can find them, Koni Sports and H&R Race springs are on the checklist. Picking those TSW's back up from aussiemg tomorrow.

Added the TSW's, Z1 Star Spec's, Bilstein's, and Skunk2 Sport Springs. I'm 99% sure I have room for 225/50/16 BFG Rival's for next season. IMO, this gave me the perfect drop. HUGE increase in steering feel and agility, not bouncy at all, rides VERY smooth. Lots of tire noise, though. Also, used Krylon Gloss black to paint my front lip, side skirts, front mudflaps and mouldings. New rear bumper and trunk in the works, so I'll paint the rear mud flaps and lip at that time. Rods came in, and I ordered a new MHI 20G from Forced Performance for $540 shipped with a free t-shirt. Now I need some GRM stickers/Dork sticker and I'll be set!

Nice! Needs more tire, but it's looking good! What size are those tires...are they the 205/50-16's? 225/50's should fill out the wheel well a little more for sure...

So much for $2013. Looks good though...for a fanboi

After I finished everything up, I noticed the passenger front sat lower than the driver front. Looked at the spring perches, and noticed I had the driver side upside down. I liked the gap better on the driver side over the passenger side, so I took off the shock/spring after work today and flipped it upside-down, reinstalled, and am much happier with the way it rides/handles. There's about 2 finger-widths of clearance on all tires to wheel well lip now.

In reply to Gearheadotaku:

I think the $2013 budget was blown when I bought the front sway bar endlinks. I'd have to add it all up, but I'm thinking it's closer to $4000 total invested so far with the turbo and rods. I think I'll probably have about $7000-$8000 into it all said and done around April/May. I'll probably be done with 'phase 2' of the build then. This nearly completes 'phase 1'; all that's left is to replace the dented fender, trunk, and rear bumper.

In reply to sethmeister4:

205/50/16 Z1's. Methinks 225/50/16's will be perfect. After driving with these on the highway.... I'm thinking Conti DW's or BFG Comp2's will be MUCH better suited to DD'ing. These things are berking LOUD. The car has WAY more grip than I will probably ever use on the street with these type of tires. Took an onramp fast today, and I could tell I was probably only about 6-7/10's of it's capability... and it felt about the same as when I would PUSH the car hard on an onramp.

Figured out the ignition cylinder is dying on me. Sweet. $35 to spend at Honda tomorrow. Easy fix. Checked VIN to see if mine fell under the recall.... and it's already been fixed once. Meh, has 200K on it(almost), probably needs it anyway.

Booooooooooooooooooost it.

As they say: No replacement for air rammed directly into your throttle body

.... err ... or something like that.

That'll happen in the spring. Still need to get pistons and a head.

Went to Honda this morning, ordered a new ignition cylinder. Also went to the junkyard and scored a black, wingless trunk. Has two minor dings in the lid, and needs buffed bad, but I went over it with some polish and threw a couple coats of wax on it. No more rusty tramp stamp for the dirtbag!

Ignition cylinder fixed, $26 after my discount! Noticed my clutch master is weeping, so I'm ordering a new s2k slave, one piece braided line and spacer this weekend.

Might have another Accord in the stable soon, too!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand the starter died this morning. Plunger stuck out. $110 and 30 minutes later, dirtbag starts better than it ever has.

  1. Install turbocharger.
  2. Turn up boost in 1 psi increments until motor blows.
  3. Install "new" junkyard motor, set boost at 1 psi below breaking point.

All in good time. I may throw it on over winter since I'm getting 'the itch' and I must scratch. Even at wastegate pressure, it should make 250+/- whp/tq.

GHO, got your call/pm. I may have a friend interested, but for me its just too far :( that'd be a gravy gig, too.

Took dirtbag to the track last night just to play around, did nothing other than show up, go through tech, straight to staging. Ran a best of 16.375@83.5mph. Best 60' I could get out of it was a 2.35. Did 7 runs total, ran pretty consistent 16.4xx all night at 83-84mph, 60' in the 2.4xx range. Car just doesnt have the power to improve. Slowest car I've ever owned lol.

In the interest of not dying whenever moisture touches the ground, I threw the snow tires/ steelies back on the dirtbag.

Yes, I'm still alive Steve. :P just can't post from work anymore and I'm being real lazy.
