I have superclean and a wire brush. We can clean it.
Generally speaking thats my first step in any project. A small block chevy just requires more than anything japanese.
You know how a small block chevy is out of oil? It stops leaking.
I've owned countless vehicles with SBC's. Not one, not a single one, leaks or seeps at all. It's all about workmanship and using the right gaskets and seals. FelPro and proper techniques keep the garage floor spotless.
I, for one, would LOVE to have you teach us how to make this happen. I know that's a big ask...but I'd enjoy some pointers. I shelled out real money for felpro's fancy-ass oil pan gasket and new pan recently and still have a leak. GRRRRR.
Anyone know how a soft tonneau attaches to the stepside?
Ive decided its staying stepside and red.
Negotiations are underway for paint and body now that we jave come to an agreement with insurance on the elky.
I like the step side for no other reason that it is less popular and generally different. Staying red means you don't have to paint door jams, underhood, etc. Get back to the right red and it should be nice.
In reply to Nick Comstock :
Agreed if you mean about the insurance.
As far as black fleetside vs red stepside: kinda nervous. Im outside my comfort zone, but feel that a change may be good. Its also staying chevy grille and camaro steelies for now. Unless i find a set of billet 18s i like for a price im willing to pay.
Are you going to paint your CAM numbers on or magnetic sign it?
Magnetic.
Would i get bonus points for entering the tow vehicle AND the race car in the same event in two different classes?

You'll achieve Stampie's hero level 1 status.
Do i have to do it with a mullet and mesh shirt for level 2?
For $2017, the Sliverado towed the Free Probe to the event!
It's already done it once.
Clarifying: The Silverado with full ride height towed the Probe on a tow dolly from Jax to the Gainesville hotel but after the lowering in the parking lot and some other parking lot hackery, the Probe was then street driven from the hotel to the track.

Oh that's an entire different event.
Actually kinda looks like a younger you.
Thats my brother in 1996.

usually the same as a fleetside. clamp on frames. Wait..... that generation there is no inside lip is there?
I had a lift type soft on my Sonoma stepside (2000). IT clamped at the front and had to catches at the rear.

Not true! The Probe was passed off to Gameboy and I to tow with my truck and it repeatedly tried to Houdini itself off the tow dolly.

Please don't know. Right now there is a full diamond plate aluminum inner bed liner pop riveted to whatever is there from the factory that goes over the rail and down the side of the bed a couple of inches. Part of me is thinking about cutting down the over the rail part to hide it under the frame rail of a tonneau, the other part of me says rip it out and shoot a spray in in it

You are right! As usual, a whirlwind weekend and the finer details are lost.
There is a very similar single cab truck 4x4 at my work office.
They are not allowed to sell it to employee's but it's just damn well sitting there. (was the moving E36 M3 about truck).
In reply to Mad_Ratel :
Can you take a picture and posted of the inside of the bed? That way I can get a good idea of what works under the bed liner

Some come with a velcro attachment, some use a rail as a attach point, and some use snaps Googleize and compare. I like the stepside look, and there is a Jeep red that is deep and bright. Good for you getting your elky business behind you.

Definitely about the insurance and the step side. 99% of the time I think black is the better choice. But hey man you do you
