This forum is new, so click this link for all the previous Fiesta updates since we first got it:

For our first build update since creating this forum, we took the Fiesta to a PDX at Sebring International Raceway with our new coil-overs and Toyo R1Rs.

Solo nationals prep:

May be a dumb question- but how much did the handling change with the change in rear spring rate? Moving the sping that far on the arm had to have a pretty major effect on wheel rate....
Actually, not a whole lot. It is a bit softer in the rear now, but it wasn't a dramatic change.
Thanks for the updates. Also learned about 425 motorsports and their seat mounts for the Mazda2 which I have had trouble finding. Thanks and good luck at nationals.
Hey, we're getting a roll cage!

We also dyno-tested a handful of intake and exhaust upgrades.
http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/2012-ford-fiesta/dyno-testing-our-fiesta/
Turns out the K&N panel filter does nothing, but the Steeda cone filter and Ford Racing exhaust are worth some decent horsepower.
Since this is permanently making the car caged, do you get to take out the sound deadening stuff, too?
or is the car at min weight already?
Or does it even matter?
(for some reason, this B-Spec is really interesting- there's a team out on the west coast making one out of a sedan, and I had found a 'scrapped' sedan on C-list for like $7k- it was fine, but the insurance wrote it off with a pretty minor bump + airbags- a perfect platform for a race car)
Keeping a close eye on this thread.
Sound deadening? Hah. Carpeting is about the extent of it. We don't know if we'll be at minimum weight yet once the cage is in, but we can always add ballast.
In Grand-Am, minimum weight with driver is 2545. I suspect we'll be in the right ballpark without having to remove much more. We'll assess after we drive it out of Joey's shop.
The car's been wrapped and is going to the Performance Racing Industry trade show this weekend. Come by and see this thing in person!

Did you wrap the entire car, or have it painted?
There's a lot of changes between the last update and this one.... Perfect for the TAMO reason.

The only change the car has seen since the last update is the wrap. We have an update on the roll cage (linked above)... but oh, our website's borked. Lemme see about fixing that.
I have no idea what TAMO means.

The pictures of the wrapping didn't show the entire car being done, some looked to just be decals, and there were seams to support that- it wasn't clear that the entire car was covered. So...
TAMO- common at engineering schools- Then A Miracle Occured. It's a way to get from problem A to answer B without showing how you got there.
Love the wrap! I wish I had a plotter big enough to do that :P
Where did you get the Rota's from?
We got our Rotas from Rota. But you can buy 'em at lots of places if you search teh Googz. Like here:

Fixed the database issue, so the roll cage update is back up. Here's the link again:

Fiesta wrap....mmm...now I want Mexican food!
Bryce
Heyso...
I took this thing to a driver's school after installing a bunch of safety equipment. I hit mid-pack among the Spec Miatas, and got the track record for B-Spec at Roebling.
Maybe they've never had another B-Spec car there.
Here's the details:

And hey, while you're at it, check out the other recent updates, like the ones on our safety gear and so on.

What happened to this car? Is it still around or did it go somewhere?
It was sold off to someone before I started working here. Last I heard, they still had the GRM livery on it though.
