Me and my dad recovered this from my grandmother's yard about 15 years ago with intentions to fix it or something. We've decided that it's too far gone for a resto and not something we'd want to own. We would love for someone to scoop it up and make it a challenge rig. Price highly negotiable, trades pondered. Located in Maine.

edit: i dont know how to embed from imgur but theres a bunch of pics there
edit ii: just to be clear this is probably something that would need a tube chassis as the rear suspension mounting points on one side are no longer attached to anything and much of the floor is missing
I've gotten all kinds of terrible ideas in about 30 seconds.
More
I'll do more when I get home if you want.
With something like 15-21 HP in the rear from the 499cc motor, what are you thinking Stampie? LS might make it wheelie down the road, but a proper bike engine would be a hoot!
In reply to dherr (Forum Supporter) :
Someone I know well has an 80 hp snowmobile engine sitting on the shelf for a rainy day.
The wheelbase is going to be a problem for NHRA and the track width to height ratio needs a bit of adjustment for SCCA static rollover ratio (both issues can be solved), but that curb weight sure is attractive...
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
Wheelbase is exempt for Challenge unless it shows itself to be unstable. See Subaru bus.
Oh I need to measure because I think I have something with a 72 inch wheelbase at home.

I'd bet the current curb weight is even lower than that!!
Just to be clear this is probably something you'd have to tube chassis, the rear suspension mounting points on one sde are non existent.
Final pictures for solfly.
Someone here is doing up one of these. Who doesn't like a Go-Kart?
its based on a Fiat 500,I wonder if the floorpans and inner fenderwells are the same
So I could put my zero turn engine lawn mower engine in this thing and double the horsepower :-)
At 1100 pounds, it would not take too much to really make it fly, now whether you should fly or not is up to you........

It was Ben_modified, I read a build thread on here or somewhere for it.

Or you could just drape this body over your mower & have the coolest mower around.

Lot of truth to that, I bet the wheel base is similar!
OMG I want to victimize this. But realistically can't come get it for a while. Does it have a title? How much $ is Negotiable? Like is $100 insultingly low? It would be a challenge car eventually. Just not for a few years.
In reply to nocones :
Usually when I get that low I just offer alcohol because alcohol always sounds good.
In reply to Stampie :
True. $100 Alcohol Equivalent is not the most I would pay. I just want to know what kind of $ he was hoping for. Obviously with a car like this for challenge purposes it's important to get the car as cheaply as possible.
I'll have to price a wheelbarrow if PBR to see what kind of offer I could put together.
No title. Maine doesn't issue titles for vehicles this old.
$100 isn't far off for a challenger but it has to be picked up before thanksgiving.
In reply to solfly :
Hmmm ... Thanksgiving. I'm not going to lie and say that I didn't look into a POD delivery. I defer to nocones but is there a way that a local storage place could be rented by the buyer and said vehicle moved to that storage place? Of course all interest and liability of the seller would end at that point.
Where at roughly is this in Maine? With the challenge in Late October there is no chance I could come get this before then. Thanksgiving timeframe is tight but the difference between a 17 drive (close part of Maine) and a 22 hour drive (far north part of Maine) would make a big difference.
I would most likely do the original plan for the Subaru 360 to this thing. Geo Metro 1.0L (In garage) on a very simple tube frame with Solid front and rear axle trying to be as light as possible for the challenge.
