how do you know if the welds are any good?
"1965 Falcon Wagon Full chassis. FOX Mustang coil over front suspension, 4 link rear with narrowed 8.8 Moser axles. Set up for Coyote. 3 steel hoods, one fiberglass hood. A pair of steel fenders. A pair of fiberglass fenders. Body is super solid. Have clean rad support. New gravel guard. Clean title in my name."
someone else please buy this.
Facebook ad not showing up for me but you should be able to look at them in person and tell. You want good penetration so make sure they don't look like they're sitting on top of the metal.
I've never seen a 4-link with uppers longer than lowers.

I think the vehicle is for sale because someone woke up to the fact that there is a lot of work left and that a lot of what is done is not done very well
The angular welds on the frame need fishplates
The front 4 link set-up looks wrong to my eyes, as mentioned, I think the 4 bar is upside down
Not in love with the unsupported nature of the front upper bar mount. Looks flimsy
Axles but no gears in the diff.
That they left the triangulated 4 link tabs on the differential suggest how sloppy and lazy the builder might be. I would accept "not got around to it yet" but for the other stuff.
Have to assume that this same level of competence permeates the entire car. While none of it is irreparable, it is a negotiating point and you might want to stand back and see if the design is as flawed as the execution. Possible are you are just buying a shell with scrap metal attached.
EDIT:
Went and looked at the add pics
This just aint right. Think is going to have the torsional rigidity of a tobogan
That front fender should not dip like that
There is nothing that looks like it is straight; look at the PS rear corner trim. Something ain't right and it could be easy to fix or impossible. But it grabs the eye. Rear bumper. Door gaps. Headliner. All warning signs
Cool car but agree on the lack of structural engineering. When I saw "Set up for Coyote" and then the so called "frame" my first thoughts was that this will twist the first time you hit the throttle. Needs major re-engineering and strengthening but for the right price, could be a cool project for sure.
That is why I keep coming back to this forum. You people are great. Really willing to help someone who doesn't really know what they are doing. And saving me money too.
thanks for all the comments. I am cured from wanting it. Ha. Ha
Set up for coyote indeed....Wile E. Coyote.
First time I’ve ever heard of a 65 Ford F1. Kinda sets the tone of the entire ad. Typ. ad where someone thinks they knew what they have, and don’t realize they have done basically everything wrong. If it was done right, and the shell does look ok, prolly decent price. With advice, and help, I could redo everything and have a nice car. But he’d likely get a little butt hurt if I told him why my offer would be less than 25% of his asking price! And only that high ‘Cause I love those wagons!
He is selling a wagon that is part way between a streetable car and a gasser. But points out it has a back seat? It would be a long road to make it a nice drivable car, but also a long way to being a gasser.
It is def. better than the other, or the comet I tried to look into, and prolly a reasonable starting price. Too rich mr my income, but thats my problem!
