5 speed

1988 Ford Turbo Coupe

Some back story on the car. I know a guy that used to have a shop setting up cars on the dyno ect he went to work for his brothers shop so he had to move the cars he had left over. I pick up this one because iv always wanted a 2.3t motor but im in the middle of two truck projects and needs funds and time so im just going to send it down the road. It came off the road in 2008 probably been sitting most of that time.

It came into the shop to have some little fixed and to be put onto the megasquirt as well as a tune. Owner fell off the map before the work started so here I am with it!

Motor spins over fine and has compression on the rear cylinder, turbo is to big to be able to pull the other plugs so I haven’t checked them yet. Trans feels fine and iv found all the gears. The interior is rough but I figured someone will buy the car for the motor/trans/harness/ecu so really ur getting a free cart to hold of of the parts!

I am missing a cable to be able to plug the ecu into the car its a DB27 common cable but I don’t have it so I can’t test the motor. The key does not turn the motor over my guess is that the ecu sends the signal?... Iv jumped the starter solenoid to spin it over.

Harness seems in good shape the only thing I saw was where they moved wires for the O2 so its high on the down pipe. The intercooler pipeing is a joke and it needs something to go from the down pipe to the exhaust as well.

If you are interested please respond to the CL post Im not on the forums much anymore! P.S. the price listed is the CL price not the GRM price if you know what I mean.

Thanks guys!

Also im looking for trades!!

Really want an old jeep (cj, yj) something rusty but running with a title that I can drive over the summer with the top down.

More useful trades include, good 4wheeler, zero turn or a “real tractor”, maybe some other interesting trades nothing that requires lots of work I don’t have the time right this second.
