You might remember this thread where I offered my 1990 Miata up for sale after 29 years of ownership.
I don't drive it much anymore. Well, now I don't drive it at all
Tangle with a guard rail on Tuesday. I was in the car alone. Too fast, too wet, no one to blame but myself. Not a single scratch on me.
More not to blame anyone but myself...on this car that I rarely ever drive, I only had liability coverage. That means for accidents that I cause, the car doesn't get replaced. So, its back in my driveway.
I'm not gonna keep it. I'm not gonna part it. The whole car is up for offer and I'd like the whole car to go away.
Make offer. Directly I can be reached at ...jwelsh02...yahoo...
Title is clean, not a salvage title
Oil pan is opened at the front but the engine seems fine otherwise and was off quickly.
On to the pictures...
The car survived the accident with no damage to windshield. But, then while opening the hood, the metal hit the glass and cracked it low. Picture not added yet.
Doors still open and latch correctly on both sides
Seams at the doors on both sides look very good
The tombstoe was cracked...and cracked more, as in came off. I do have another tombstone.
Alloy crack in half. The other 3 are fine.
The radiator is pierced, low
Hood latch still works from inside and will latch closed
Low, front, right oil pan is open.
Covered to hide my shame. Under there, the car is still on jack stands if anyone wants to see. The windows are up and the car is dry/weather tight otherwise.

If it doesn't move with this or FB listing, I'll take it the 20 minutes to IAA and for a $100 listing fee they'll offload it to the highest bidder in their weekly auctions.
As for pains. my right wrist is noticeable but noticeable less than a typical sports injury/sprain. Surely an airbag injury. I really feared day two the most, after the first night of sleep. So, in anticipation, I started Tylenol double doses followed a few hours later of Motrin double dose and then repeat. My next morning was not bad.
A 2 day sailboat race leaves me in more physical pain the next morning than this.
Glad you are okay. That's a really solid hit.
At the risk of acting like a vulture, I'd be interested in the hulk. I'll send a PM.
I have to piece my trailer back together, but with any luck, that'll happen this weekend.
Wow, John, that was a hard hit! Good that you are apparently OK. Cars can be repaired or replaced. I have no doubt someone here will give the Miata a new life.
This $900 Miata roller in the Tampa Bay area might be useful to someone resurrecting John's car. NMNA:
In reply to John Welsh :
Not surprised Darren is interested, selling to him would probably be the quickest and easiest way to get rid of it.
