That's only two hours from me, and i've always wanted to hop the wagon version up. But if he wants more tha a couple hundred for it, I'll wait. (unless that is the worst looking picture in the ad...)
From looking at the pictures the seller posted I'd have to say that the only way you're ever going to get this back on the road is if you have another Pinto that can donate most of it's interior and some sheet metal. These early Pinto's rusted, as most cars built in the 70's did. The OEM's just didn't put much effort into rust proofing their cars from the factory and unless an owner did something the cars would rust away in less than 10 years.
I can remember 7-8 year old Pinto's where the doors was gone halfway up and the fenders were barely attached to the car. This doesn't appear to be one of those but there has to be some rust, the pictures showing that just aren't posted by the seller.
That wagon would make an awesome drag car, or a pro-street or pro-touring car, or something where all the missing parts will be replaced with something else. I would -not- look at restoring this.
Oh..... "gasser" wagon. That could be interesting...
I've heard those wheels are actually forged aluminum, a rare option. Someone please fact check me on this.
