Doesn't need to be quick if it can do it.
I remember running a 32Ton forklift that ran a 3208 Cat that was turbo'd. Jeebus that thing made power.
I think those trucks are a case of "hey, it's just sitting there so why not?" I have two of those motors and they are exactly what you would expect of a 35 year old industrial diesel. The NA version makes 210 hp and 600 pounds of torque. It weighs over 2000 pounds along with the Allison transmission. And the 65 mph top speed is with the motor doing almost 3000 rpm. You would need ear protection in there.
