2004 Mini Cooper S - 1.6l Supercharged I4/6 speed manual
-97k miles
- I'm the second owner. A friend of mine ordered this car new and owned it until I bought it this year.
- This is a very fun street car or locally competitive autocross car. It completed 6 events this year with 2 drivers, and finished 3rd in the region in STX.
- New clutch at 90k miles
- One of my best friends and codriver is a professional mechanic with a lot of experience wrenching on Minis. When I bought the car in February, we completed the following repairs and replacements:
- Water pump
- Serpentine belt
- Aluminum coolant overflow
- Thermostat and gasket
- Wiper blades
- Hydraulic top right engine mount
- Crankshaft Position Sensor and seal
- Valve Cover Gasket
- Spark Plug well seals
- NGK Spark Plugs
- Cabin Air Filter
- Right CV Axle
- License Plate Mount
- PRW Fluidgel Harmonic Balancer and new OEM bolt
- Front main seal
- Supercharger Intake Gasket
- Supercharger oil change
- Transmission fluid change
- New taillight assemblies
There may be more that I'm forgetting. It was.... a lot. I bought this car to enjoy on the street and race on the weekends. It filled that role very well. The original owner had a local race shop perform the first round of modifications within the past 10k miles. My codriver and I completed the rest this year. They are as follows:
- NM Engineering adjustable rear swaybar
- 17" Enkei Racing Prototype GTC01 wheels
- 215/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE-71Rs
- Adjustable front camber plates
- Dorman upper and lower adjustable rear camber arms
- Nolathane engine mount inserts
- Koni coilover suspension front & rear
- Autocross alignment redone in September after the addition of the rear camber arms
- Removable Schroth harnesses
- K&N Air Intake
What's it need? A headliner. It is drooping. I had the car professionally detailed in the spring, but there's some ghosting in the clearcoat that my detailer couldn't get out. Maybe you're better? I don't know. It didn't bother me and the car is presentable. There's also a hole worn in the driver's seat outer bolster.
The car is nicely optioned. Factory nav, heated seats, slicktop (for weight and reduced complexity), A/C (obviously), roof rack, Harman/Kardon sound system, windshield sunshade, and so on.
Everything works and there are no warning lights. I wanted to make sure the car was squared away, and it is for now.
This car has been in KY since new and is totally rust-free.
