NMNA. I couldn't find the thread I wanted. The place I worked was where all Military-Gov't surplus on the east coast was auctioned off. The deer hunters went nuts when these came in! Day before the auction a flatbed roll in and scoops them all up. WTH? "We're from the Vermont EnCon, they lowered our budget but gave us these instead". Rats.
Used in Viet Nam to drive under running helicopters delivering stuff. TIL they were made by Willys, I always thought they had a boxer engine.
They have a magnesium chassis so if the base was overrun they could just light them and keep the enemy from getting them.
I actually owned one, shouldn't have sold it.
They are also expensive for what they are. The college I went to had a couple used by the landscaping crew.
