Oh dang, I need to call on that. It's less than 2K away from being a really nice car. I'd love to know how the door handle broke.
I love how the seller basically says it's not worth buying unless you can provide free labor to fix everything.

He's right. his point about premium fuel should not be overlooked either. thirsty car!
and the door handles on mine feel like the finally open the door at almost their fully extended travel. My BIL borrowed ours a few months ago and actually called me because he couldnt get out becase he was afraid he was going to break the handle and thought something was wrong. I can see how someone broke the inside handle if the mechanism was frozen or jammed.

Yeah, if you have the time and space for the fix-up, it looks like a pretty good starting point!
You in Denver now?
Just south. Piss poor timing or I'd already have it. I'm in the process of downsizing the house and moving back to TX.
Well it's good to know that my purchasing one has created a downward slope in value!
Maybe by the time Joe gets it here the runners will be worth $625!
They look really nice in silver, looks like a decent example with a little work. Sounds like an owner who doesnt understand older cars and got in over his head.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
I'm betting the could fix it, and would fix it... just charge about 4 times what the car would then be worth!
Too bad no one has a complete running parts car...
Oof.
If I offer him $500 would someone help explain to my wife why a $1125 XJR is a great deal?
Stampie (FS) said:Jag dealer couldn't fix it. It's a Jag. Is this normal for Jags?
It is for VWs that age.
In reply to Duke :
Truth I guess. I passed a Harley dealer today. Same one I had my old 84 custom Shovelhead towed to when I broke down bringing it home. They wouldn't even let it off the tow truck with a comment of "it doesn't even have belt drive". BTW I'll never go into a Harley dealer now.

This is the second thread you've hinted about an XJR. We're going to need some details..... Build thread?

When I call a few months ago, the local Jag-you-are dealer told me they don't stock a single part for my 2001. Wowsers!
Too old

I used some ford mustang parts on mine. Exact same parts just not jaguar part numbers. Weird huh?
That car in the ad looks exactly like mine.
In reply to Indy "Nub" Guy :
Purchased a rough car that runs for $625.
Plans include Megasquirt, possibly an AJ6 manual, new smaller body.
Not here yet, hoping for mid March
I hate that crap. Ad mentions small nagging issues, no biggie. Oh wait, major issues not noted.
Automotive catfishing. </rant>
