I'm in southeast Louisiana. I'm shopping east Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, the Florida panhandle, and possibly Tennessee and Arkansas if needed. I'm trying to get my hands on a solid, running Porsche 914 for street use. I don't need a museum piece, nor do I want a rust bucket. I'll take any year or engine.

Asking prices on the cars I've seen that match my needs are between $5000 and $8000, and that's the area I've budgeted.

It's all about rust at this point.

Yeah but a rust free 914 is about as real as a rust free 356. Neither exist. Both were rusting when they were built. I've owned both. Neither are worth current asking prices. Especially the 356.

Yo the OP , try and find one with the FI intact. Carbs ate usually a sign of other problems or deferred maintenance

In reply to markwemple: Possibly, but most of the runners under $10k seem to have dual carbs.
