Great summer fun car! MGBs are super fun little cars, that were built for many years and have lots of support and are easy to work on. This one has some choice upgrades and lots of recent maintenance so should be a solid driver for a vintage British sports car. Upgrades include a correctly jetted and adjusted Weber DGV carburetor – much better than the original Stromberg. Also, this engine has a mild cam, Mallory ignition distributor, header and performance exhaust. Gives it a little more pep than original to help keep up with traffic. Upgraded Optima battery. Runs and drives very well.
No clunks or rattles or shimmies. Shocks work well and corners as well as a vintage MGB could expect to. Paint looks good – it is a respray and not perfect, and has some dings, but people wave and give thumbs up all the time. Very little rust – some in the reinforcement rails but nowhere else. The interior has received some recent work – recovered seats, new carpet. Tires have lots of tread. Top goes up and down easy, but missing a couple clips.
There are lots of MGBs on the market, and all over in terms of price. This is a really solid driver that will give miles of smiles while needing normal TLC over time, as it has been cared for. Only being sold because the owner (who sold it once and bought it back because she missed it) is losing her storage and can't bear to park it outside.
