  • Some sort of 5.0 Mustang and/or 350 Camarobird
  • An old American truck, preferably with points and a 3-speed on the column
  • P71
  • Random 80's turbo car with a fish tank valve and the boost turned all the way up (Thunderbird's are good for this)

If your looking for an experience and not just crazy performance, old British convertibles are hard to beat. As mentioned MG Midget, Triumph Herald, pick you favorite year TR.

Also cool are 70s Daimler 280c class, pick a Jag, any Jag.

My Dad had a 90 or so Dodge Shadow with a turbo. That was a lot of fun too!

I almost said the same thing- but I drove mine through a Michigan winter with rotted out heater cores. Needless to say it was unpleasant...

Under 3 grand.. the only bugs you are going to find are going to have rotted out heaterboxes

You can find $3k Bugs down south. Also I want to see a sub $3k TR that isn't a rotted out POS or a TR7.

I've seen plenty of solid IRS bugs around $3k in the salt belt, early stuff and cabrios are a lot more.

B13 SE-R and Fox body Mustang would be two that I've enjoyed I that price range. A cheap E36 would be another one I'd recommend.

a sub 3k milano is not a car that anyone should experience.

I'm going to say AW11 MR2

I'm seeing a lot of cars being posted that are not sub 3k or that would be total garbage at that price.

I put 50k miles on one I bought for $1650 and it wasn't that bad. I did spend money on fixing stuff but not that much of it was stuff that was required to keep driving it. The 2.5 ones are cheap since everyone thinks they have to have a 3.0 to be worth owning one.
