That’s right, this weekend, March 29-30, the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack takes place. If you don’t want to miss out on the festivities, don’t worry. You can still get in on the fun at Gainesville Raceway in Florida.
Want to compete in autocross? Or how about drag racing? Why not both? Either way, you can do so not only with cars built for less than $2000, but also those that exceed that amount. There are even prizes, too, for all budgets. Register now.
Have a cool car but don’t want to motorsport it? No problem. You can bring it to our Hagerty Cars & Caffeine.
No car? Well, still come out and enjoy yourself. Spectators are welcome–and you can meet our Special Guest, two-time Rolex 24 class winner Randy Pobst. To spectate, it’s just $10 to buy your tickets now, $15 at the gate.
For more information, visit 2000challenge.com.
The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge is Presented by Tire Rack and Powered by Autobidmaster.com, in Association with HPX Show, CRC Industries, A&A Manufacturing and BendPak.
Getting to the challenge won't happen this year, but it's definitely a bucket list item...best of luck to all those hustling steel in anger this weekend!

Is there an age limit for spectator pricing? Got an adult and a six year old showing.
I wish I was bringing MonZora this year, but there was just too much going on in life for me to make a proper effort. I'm looking forward to just hanging out and seeing all the cars.
I really wish it were feasible for me to participate in the Challenge. Unfortunately, being on the other side of the country tends to make logistics difficult. As I do every year I'll just watch the threads with a bit of envy!
Have fun, everyone!

It would be 100% worth it to just show up for the weekend and help build things / bench race / have a great time fyi.
I really need to make one of these soon......
Yall just come. Hang out. Be a part of, not apart from.
Its worth it, with or without a car. Trust me. It my vacation for the year now.

I have in-laws in Bradenton. If I could swing it next year it might be fun to show up and help with a parking lot build or something.

I live in Gainesville and always offer to enable folks with a fly, buy and drive scenario for the Challenge!
I'll definitely add that if you want to spectate, you are more then welcome to attend.
For me, just watching some of the wild builds you all bring is more than half of the fun.

This is tempting...
Is that thing really still available?!? If so, make the deal and we can get it here before you get here. Happy to keep it at my house. And you could put it up on the lift before heading north just to give it a look over.

seller bumped the thread yesterday...
I was mostly cross-posting it for others. early WRX wagon is cool, but not close enough to the top of my list to make a move on it. plus, as always, life.

Thanks for asking this question!
After some internal discussion, we're going to institute a "10 and under gets in free with paying adult/guardian" policy for this year, with an eye for consideration as permanent.
The adult/guardian will still have to sign the wavier for the child.
If any of you have already purchased spectator passes for children 10 and under, you can request a refund at check-in.
Thanks,

This'll be the first Challenge I miss in 10 years or maybe more. Bummed to be missing it. Good luck everyone!
Yep, see everyone shortly.

That could be very dangerous into for me lol
Yeah, even without a car, you’ll have fun–and likely get adopted by a team, too.
I should have been paying attention. I go on vacation and fly into Orlando on the 30th. Bummer.

I'll have mine for sale after the Challenge. Yellow, Michigan Showroom Rust-Free, all that jazz.
It'll be missing a few things (like the engine) but that just clears up room for engine swaps and makes it easier to weld together again.
