2007 1500 2wd work truck with 4.8 and 4 speed auto.
Today it started having a vibration I could feel thru the floorboard and hear slightly when shifting from 2nd to third gear especially when lightly accelerating. Doesn't seem to happen on the first to second or third to fourth shift.
What say you GRM?

Jeff, does it make sense that I only notice it on the 2-3 shift?

Truck has just under 30k with no towing or heavy use
I may have to retract my previous comment. The common flaw with the 4l60e is a 2-3 shift flare. I knew it was something, but didn't remember accurately.

I will have to experiment tomorrow but I think the problem is only noticeable under light acceleration. When I accelerated hard, either the trans didn't have the vibration or it shifted quick enough so that I didn't hear it.
Shift flare appears to be a problem mostly with full throttle shifts....according to a quick search via google
yeah. I know it's not even close to the same vehicle, but my mustang will shudder under light throttle during shifts. under more than 1/4 throttle its not noticeable.

Thanks guys, I will experiment more tomorrow to really isolate when the vibration occurs
