"Why did they start with a Solara?"
In case you haven't noticed, even when Ford was using the Taurus a few years back (not the current one, but the car formerly known as the 500) it was built to look like a 2 door coupe. ALL the Nascar race cars look this way. They also all have the same basic body shape (there's a template for ALL the teams to use so there is no longer any aero advantage available to any particular team...like there used to be in the '60s and '70s) They basically all build the same car, body-wise and then "decorate it" to look like a "Brand T" or "Brand F" or "Brand C" vehicle.
Nah, i see why now... they wanted a 2 door camry, so they grafted camry front and back onto a solara. Pretty slick.
I never thought it would ever be appropriate to use the words NASCAR, Camry, and awesome in the same sentence before.
If they put this in production then they can RACE it like that and they can say it's an actual production based car, hopefully Dodge, Chevy, and Ford then would make a vehicle like this.

You have GOT to be kidding.
It might be worth losing the $500 deposit just to make them think their 400k pipe dream came true and chuckle a bit..... Might be. Might not. Might be funnier to think about it and stop there.
I like it and am a Toyota fan, but that is not what I would spend 400k of my hard earned money on. Now, if someone else has a spare 400k laying around..... Just to blow the doors off a lambo or ferrari in your camry!

+1
....and if the other makes didn't follow suit, the irony would be great. I wonder how good old boys would feel about toyota being closer to the NASCAR of old that any of the big three
No, actually. My email to Tom about it was sent right after that post. (I usually email him "canoe to kill" with the URL or username. Email or hitting "!" will usually get a faster response than posting "canoe" to a thread.)
At this point, posting "canoe" is actually unnecessary.....that's a hold out from the days when Per was running the board, and he would find threads afflicted with spam by searching the database for fields containing the word canoe. Now we have the "!" button for that purpose.
The use of the word, in the current board, is forum tradition. There's nothing wrong with tradition as long as you also remember to do the thing that actually helps (i.e. hit the '!')
[Edit: For the record, this time my email subject was, "smells like a paddle sports enthusiast"]

It was difficult finding a Toyota Camry in PA though. We found that all of the dealerships are very beneficial, although they may not have the automobile I needed. I found Toyota Camry pretty fast. It has helped a lot.
