It would be 11:00 before we get to summit.
John.
First wave of GRMers has hit the road--gotta hang banners, unpack and set up stuff. We'll see you guys this evening.
So for now, it looks like a battle between mini-me and wreck? No offense to the wreck guys, it was good to see them finally sort the car, but I'd love to see mini-me FINALLY bag a win. Of course, there is always the suck-vette factor (some quiet sneaky guys bringing a nuclear weapon to the knife fight) which would be pretty fun to watch too.
Best of luck to all. Putting out good vibes for no issues on the way down or back.

All new car for us, but we're not shooting for a win until next year - more of an introduction to the build this year.

That's just wrong.
BTW, this looks promising
Left my car info form and budget sheet at home. How hard will my beating be and can i quick knock that out there?
Team Sparkly Unicorn Farts will be rolling out of St. Augustine in just a few minutes. See everyone in the morning.

whatever you do, do NOT let him near the crayons. The last time we did that we were pullingthem out of his nose and ears for weeks.... and that was only half of them. the rest ended up in the porcelin god the next day.
I'm not terribly surprised the twin engine Escort is being worked on (no offense Chris!), as I know there was a speed sensor issue before they left. Any clue if that's all they were fixing?
K- drag strip has been open for like 45min. Why do I not have times? (i'm EXTREMELY unhappy i'm not there, and trying to live vicariously.)

yeah, I'm not seeing any tire smoke in this picture:
At least they're holding beer cans though. I guess that is a start?

Ha! I saw that trailer in town and noticed the blacked out Durango pulling it! Should have guessed it was a Challenger.
I really wish Velocity or some other car enthusiast channel would come out and shoot a program about the cars, the people, the history of the event etc etc. Could do a bit of history about the mag, drive up subscriptions...get the word out that racecars are NOT gazillion dollar machines that go fast and turn left. There is a whole world of racing outside of Jeff Gordon and the Earnhardts...
I think the challenge would make STOOPID good tv for gearheads. What a missed opportunity.
