My dad, known as the big boss, has a 2016 SS with the 6-speed manual. He recently has had the suspension get extremely stiff he says it feels as if the springs are not there. I have not driven it and I don't know what he means exactly. It does have an adjustable settings for the suspension for normal sport etc. My question is what could be wrong with what he has installed in the car and secondly what would you replace them with? He's thinking stop from the dealership I'm thinking koni, Bilstein, or something else? I really lean toward a dealership solution as the big boss is 83 and very set in his ways in his mind the dealership is always best unless I can convince him otherwise. Any help would be appreciated thank you Braden
Rock Auto sells GM suspension pieces. He might not want to be the guy that changes them. How much from Chevy?
Some words seem to be missing from the op, but it sounds like he had the shocks replaced at the dealer and now it rides "like there's no springs".
There's likely a wiring connection issue, or they broke a wire, assuming there wasn't an issue before hand. In my experience Mag-ride (aka F55) suspension defaults to full hard when there's an issue, and full hard is FULL HARD. "NO SUSPENSION" would be a valid comment based on my early (02-03) mag ride experience.
I'm not familiar with the SS, but I'd guess there'd be a "service suspension system" or "speed limited to XX" warning on the dash.
Thank you for the responses. The car has about 60,000 miles and the original shocks struts on it. It got very stiff I still haven't driven it to see how stiff. I will report on what happens. Thanks again

My experience with that platform is limited to the GXPs without the electronic shocks. I will say the GM SUVs that come with electronic shocks have a pretty common failure mode of locking up, and riding like a wagon.
My guess with the info given is a bad shock.
On the SUVs you can lift it and sometimes one of the wheels wont even droop because of the shock
