2016 ram uconnect 5.0 bricked help

Culprit:  2016 ram 3500 uconnect 5.0

friday radio worked fine in morning.  Friday afternoon it stayed on what i will refer to as the startup screen with the ram logo that's usually followed by the radio playing whatever channel it was left on.  But no, it stayed on that screen.  Was well out of cell service but at my destination i found soft reset instructions on ram forum posted by a ram cares associate.  Performed that and now the radio slowly loops from the startup screen to black to back and this repeated all 8 hours i was in the truck yesterday.  
 

is there anybody out there that can help short of paying the dealer?  I'm out of warranty and on a tight budget for the foreseeable future 

You may have already seen this, but a search shows some similar issues in the past were related to XM updates that weren't compatible, causing the freezing and reboot. 
 

Maybe give the reset another try?

Sorry to hear of the 8 hours you had to stare at the screen, in silence. 

Inopportune timing! 

Call the local radio shops they usually have/ know of a place that can repair the radio In a few days.
