Now with an easy link.
It's a nice write up. It gives good credit to the GRM Challenge and even gives a link to Andrew & Palua's 2014 Drag Week interview:
A couple of additional comments since I was there...
The weather outlook was rough and there was a rain delay. This resulted in an ultra-low turnout for the event. I expected this place to be packed beyond recognition. I did talk with people there from Toronto and Pennsylvania. I think the more 2-3 hour drive day-trippers are the one who backed out the most. Where I am going with this is it is hard to show in pictures how few people were really there but here's one.
Everyone who was signed up to race a car, any car, not just under $3k got a "lottery ticket" with their entry which was a yellow slip of paper. This picture shows ALL of those entries in one small box.
I saw the orange Camaro run. it was a cool car but I figured it was still lugging around the original 305 or maybe an older 350 because it was putting up high 15's/low 16's. Now, I read here that he had a 5.3L LS1???? How do you go so slow ? A near stock Q45 could have beat him.
Seriously how do you swap a 5.3 into anything and run 16's?
Probably the carb. Carbs suck.
I'll step down from the pulpit now as my 5.3 went a blazing 35 seconds at 25mph.
Im guessing that camaro was optioned like my friends old 79. 2.41 rear end gears make for entertaining top speeds but it takes a while to wind up... first car i ever seen bury a 150mph speedometer with a 3 speed.

I could definitely pull that off.
Cool Pic of Pat and Mr. Nelson on the grid.
Picture number 133 in the album of this article on RoadKill
I'm still waiting for them to get Mayhem sorted out. I think a 10.66 was the best it's ever run, at least that they've shown. Considering it's some 300-400lbs lighter than a stock Hellcat and has headers and low-restriction exhaust, and dead-hooks every time, it should be faster than that. It also has nitrous, that should put it into the 9s. I think the 8-speed transmission is the big holdup.
