Anyone know if a '79-83 280z front spoiler will fit on a '72 240 at all, or is the shape very different? Thanks.

That would be a ZX. It wouldn't fit without modification. 70-78are going to be the most similar shapes without changing much.

Back when I sold front spoilers for Z-cars, I remember the 240Z, 280Z and 280ZX each having their own part numbers. Depending on whether it was early or late, the 260Z took either the 240Z or 280Z piece.

won't fit. the 79-83 is a zx and is completely different. even the 280 and late 260 have a lower slung valance and is quite a bit different than a 240. I bought a 240 BRE style airdam with the intention of making it work on a 280 but once you mock it up it quickly becomes obvious what a project it would be. about that time MSA released the 280 BRE dam so I snagged one and sold my 240 piece on ebay. Now if it were for a 76-78 280 and the bigger type (like the MSA type 3 for example) that replaces the valance all together. . . that is an easy fit. but the zx piece still won't be easy, probly not worth the time adapting it when so many 240 versions are available.
