The thinking and machining are amazing to me.

Watched a bunch of his videos. Amazing life he leads in that shop of his. But that block is about as "Stock" as Dolly Parton's boobs.
I do like how he solved the deck height rule that was created just for his case.
Thanks for sharing this! It confirms that at least some of the ideas I've been stewing on aren't totally crazy... And picked up a few more to throw in the mix as well.
Fascinating. I really liked the tensioning bolts with the two right hand thread pitches, that was clever
Some really cool stuff in there: block clamp, 3pc cylinder heads, extra mains, weird valve sizes, offy lifters...

Had to go google Dolly's boobs. Learned some things.
So, for those of us currently on work computers who don't want to google Dolly's Boobs, but are desperate to know, please enlighten.
That block clamp with different threads is genius. I love this E36 M3. Imagine waking up one day and saying 'I think I'll make six individual cylinder heads, each out of three pieces to change my side valve engine into an OCH three valve'. Actually, I can imagine doing that. What I can't imagine is the skill, patience, time, ability and knowledge to actually do it. I've shared this with a couple of guys in the office, one of who just started but has an original model A and assures me he will occasionally commute in it come spring and slat free roads, although I bet those narrow tires would have done wonders over the last couple of days with Snomagedon.

Dolly is an unapologetic fan of cosmetic surgery and once said "if something is bagging, sagging or dragging, I'll tuck it, suck it or pluck it."
