So we're getting into our Lemons car build and need some advice. Our car is a '94 Celica GT 5 spd. We want to do as much with as little $$ as possible. Any cross model swap improvements? Brake pad, wheel size, tire choice?

We plan to pick up the thinner ST anti-roll bar for the twisty tracks.

Any other suggestions?

Swap for a late 90s Camry exhaust manifold. The stocker on the celica is a disgusting log style. The late camry is tubular and offers a nice gain up top.

You've already got the "good" trans. Not much else to swap over, honestly...

You want power or handling? 6th gen Celica Vert struts are a nice improvement. I believe GRM used them on their 6th gen ST build.

There is a '95 vert at the u-pull right now. What is different about the vert struts? I can't find a reference to show how they are different. Do I need the springs too or just the inserts? Just rear or all 4 corners?

I'll look for the Camry manifold. Same years 94-99?

Any options for a better/stiffer rear anti-roll bar?

Whats under the hood? one of the AFE engines? My 95 4afe responded very well to basic maintenance items like plugs, wires, fuel filter and a good throttle body cleaning. A short ram intake, real tubular style header wrapped in Fiberglass tape and an axleback fart cannon went a long way too, and ditch the cat. lastly, advance your timing (thanks Haynes) and keep 93 octane in it. Throttle response was NOTICEABLY improved, taking it from barely being able to chirp 2nd if I really hammered it to being able to spin em for 3 or 4 seconds into 2nd, and chirp 3rd on occasion.

It's got the 5sfe 2.2 powerplant that we initially called the "deepwater horizon" it was spewing so much oil. One camshaft seal later and hopefully that is fixed. While we have the front end of the motor apart we are going to replace the oil pump seal as these are supposedly notorious for going bad. With 161,000 miles it will also get a new timing belt to be safe.

Due to budget we probably can not go with a true header. Straight pipe or cherry bomb is in the works. If we can find a better one at the scrapers we will change the throttle cable too. Ours is adjusted out all the way and still has play/slack.

Rear convertible struts are pretty stiff---good for autocrossing/track events. The 'sport' struts are the ones you want for the front, but they didn't come on the 'verts.

I think you need later for the Camry manifold...

You're looking for a car like this, i think the tubular manifold started in 97 if i remember correctly. I may be wrong. Either way, it's REALLY easy to tell which the car has in the junkyard. I had one left a few months back, but i sold it for like... $10.
