Everybody lists different shocks. What is the actual physical difference? Mounting, length, valving?

ABS mounting tabs.IIRC, the RS was the last Integra to not have ABS.

'98 was also the last year for RS's. Only factory RS to come with the 98+ updates. I had a red on black, automatic, non-a/c car. Crazy clean inside, all OEM, maintained really well. If it wasn't a pile of rust, I'd still be driving it. Excellent car.

I think the rs/Ls/GS also had slightly different shock valving and springs for a cushier ride. Maybe different sway bars as well.

Probably shouldn't have specified RS, but that's ok. Shocks are listed GSR, or anything else for 98-01. Other than hose brackets, the only differences are valving? GSR will fit on nonGSR, other than details?

I ask because it seems Bilstien has exactly no shocks for an Integra anywhere in North America. Don't know about GSR units, either...

All 92-00 Civic and 94-01 Integra(except ITR) share the same shocks. I think the 96-00 Civics are a little longer in the rear or something(I forget), but they'll all physically take the same shocks.

Tirerack shows having some Billy HD's in stock. The only difference between the B6 and B8 are the shock shaft length, valving is the same. Unless you're slamming the car(which I doubt considering you're on this forum), the shortened shock shaft isn't really of benefit and lost travel can always be gained back with extended top hats. http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/suspension.jsp?make=Bilstein&model=B6+%28C%29+Shock&group=HD+Shock&partNum=24-016032&autoMake=Acura&autoModel=Integra+GS-R&autoYear=2000&autoModClar=

I'd still cross reference the part numbers with what Bilstein lists on their global/european website. That's how I found out all the B6's for 90-97 Accords are actually ones valved for the European 94-97 Accord Wagon's.

I think later 00-01 cars (and previous year gs cars) have a lot of the gsr bits. I noticed both my 97 GS and 00 LS have the 24mm itr/gsr sway bar, and the 14mm rear sway bar

I don't think they make B8's for integras unless you get type r bilstein sports, I just remember seeing B6s, unsure if being ITR has different valving, but then again they are revalveable..

So I can see I need a wee bit more Bilstien education. B4, B6, B8 means what? Soft, medium, hard?

Secondary question- Koni orange shock are available and quite reasonable. Adjustable Konis not legal in this app. What is the comparison to the Bilsteins?

B4 are the "touring" Bilsteins. B6 are the "HD's" also called "Sports" elsewhere in the world. B8's are the US "Sports" and "Sprints" everywhere else, usually same valving as the B6's, but with shortened shock shafts to compensate with reduced travel that happens to most vehicles when lowering ride height. I can tell you that the B6's for my application were about an inch or two shorter than the OEM stuff I pulled off my Accord, though.

The Koni STR.T's(oranges) are not like a non-adjustable Koni Sport(yellow). The Bilstein B6(HD) blow them out of the water. Lots of people who love Koni Sport's won't touch, and advise not to buy, the Koni STR.T's.

We know it's an Integra, but what's the intended purpose of use for the car?

|Chumpcar. We are trying to stay within the 2x budget, but wind up with something better than a set of Monroes. If it were an IT build, Koni Sports it is, but they are illegal from at least 2 different directions.

Hahahaha. Vastly different build quality and valving is reported to be all over the place. Lots of people having failures with them.
