Thought you guys would enjoy a couple unusual rallycross attendees today:
Peugeot 505. This car was beautiful, and super-clean (even the engine bay). He didn't drive all that hard (his first event) so it didn't get real dirty, but he said he had a blast doing it.
1980 Fiesta. Older gentleman who said he picked it up for $500.
Oh, and one sexy vintage e30, lol..
pretty pug.. you do not see them anymore
yeah, I saw him on the pre-register and was expecting some beat-down old bucket, but it was really nice. Surprised he rallycrossed it, honestly. I haven't seen a functional 505 in years before today...

I don't know if you noticed on the 505 but during the morning runs the rear dome light fell out and was swinging by the wires in the car.
By the afternoon runs he had the light zip tied up and out of the way.

lol, no didn't see that. He was behind me in staging all day. Seemed like a nice dude though.
you get everything figured out with yours? I seemingly either cracked my exhaust pipe just under the manifold or blew out an exhaust gasket - hence why I had almost no power and ran the last 3 runs in Stuart's car (3-4 seconds slower than me AND I hit 3 cones in his car (and only 1 other cone all day). Ugh.

Well I know what the problem was. One of the wires on the power switch for the car came loose. Once I found that and got it plugged back in it ran fine for the rest of the day. I just need to find a better method to make sure it stays attached.
Hey, I was there (in my old Hyundai)! Is that not rare enough for you?
I always wonder if real vintage rules might bring out some of the older cars. but then again, I kind of think that the owners are not all that trilled about driving them that hard.
It's great to go to one of our club autocrosses- a '68 GTA, a '69 Spider, two '73 GTV's..... So other's bring old stuff, too- a '60 7, a mid 70's 131, a Morgan (no idea the year). It's nice to see that with all the new cars that come out.
So nice to see more owners come out so that you can enjoy the old cars.
I thought I was the only on who had Rallycrossed a 505?
Took the stock FR win at a national tour stop at the debut and finale event for the Peugeot.
A couple of weeks later, my co-driver and I got a plaque in the mail for the win. My first and probably only time winning anything in SCCA.

You or the Hyundai?
Of course he did say beauties that might be what excluded you.

Good point. The car was the looker in our group.

I left you out because I"m jealous of how fast you make that thing go!
Man, I need to pick up a rally-x beater and pester SCR-SCCA into starting a series.

I have a long history with that car. I was excited to get to drive it again. This was my first of hopefully many rallycrosses.
