Pursuing one, has rust on the rockers towards the rear tires. Is there anything majorly structural there? In looking at Miata's off their frames it doesn't appear so. The rear lift points are pretty solid.

Some say it is structural, but I don't think it is, unless it's very rotten.

It is structural, you can feel it in the chassis rigidity. If you cut into one, you'll find quite a bit of metal back there.

But it can be repaired.

Cool. Its approximately a 6 inch piece that has rusted on both sides. I am hesitant to pursue it, as I think I can find a rust free one for the same price. (I was offering $2300 for a 1.8 with hail damage and the aforementioned rust.)
