Racing stripes?
It would seem wrong to come to a car race w/o a race car.
Here is the artistic rendition:
Change the numbers on the side to white
Add in some shorter wider rubber and wheel spacers (making it legal)
Maybe some fender flares made of black plastic lawn edging.
Minivans don't have to boring or beige!
Photoshop credit goes to GRM's own Gameboy!
Cool. I like it. Months after last year's Challenge I still had the Challenge stickers on the Miata. One morning I drove past a day care and saw a little boy jumping up and down yelling "Mommy a race car!!!" I think that made me just as happy as doing the Challenge.
That looks awesome. I love that you'll be driving it down like that.
People along the way are going to ask if it's a One-Lap car.
Roof wrap officially finished just minutes ago.
I bought a whole lot more vinyl that what I needed, anticipating waste and newbie errors.
The photo shows exactly how much workable vinyl I had left at the end. Lots of newbie errors. I did the hood 3 times and still do not like it.
All the work was done outside, in my driveway (not the ideal location) and dictated that all work had to be in the early morning or late evening so that the surface temps of the vehicle would be manageable.
Also, I chose vinyl over paint because this vehicle needed to be working on the road every day up until yesterday. I could add a section of vinyl each night and continue to drive it the next morning.
2" wheel spacers to all wheels.
RE-71Rs (from Q45) size 225.50.16 are 2.4" shorter than stock size of 225.65.16
Because racevan!
This is all the farther the side door will open due to fat rear tires.
Headed out for the first drive to test 2" spacers and stiff tires.
Actually it was if I had no control of the steering wheel. The Minivan went werever it wanted. Its was like we were just passengers in an autonomous vehicle. The Minivan finally stopped at what I think was it "home base", its "safe zone".
I should have had this van at the Runoffs today. I could have snuck on the tail end of the B-Spec grid.
