I would love to come help, and I have a good buddy in Detroit who I need to see as well.
Alas, April has been deemed the month of me fixing the roof on our house, so I probably should focus on that first....

It's not looking for Sunday. It's looking like 30's and snow, not good for working on a car outside and I'm not sure of the room around the car. Anyone still interested or should I/we punt to the following weekend?
Yes, good plan. I think this will be the weekend for all those indoor projects I didn't do all winter, plus studying for a class.
MAn we dodged a crappy day yesterday. Snow, sleet, ice, rain, cold and wind. Ugh.
So. anyone up for this coming Sunday April 17th. Clear skys in the forecast. 60's by late morning and 70 by late afternoon. Looks good.
Can I tempt anyone?
I've been known to crack a beer before noon, but maybe I should refrain this time. I can be there by 11 and even stay sober for the first few hours.
Any special tools you need?
I did a engine swap on a 86 900 and it wouldn't start after. Ran new ground wires and it ran. When i was doing another swap i Discovered I had missed placing 1 of ground wire packs that attach to the lifting point. There should be 2 sets.

My volt meter is a bit dodgy (actually the first HF tool that's taken a E36 M3). Other than that I should be set. Beer or cider, which is your preference, both will be available. along with whiskey, rum, gin. Unfortunatley I've run out of champagne until the next case arrives in May!

It has run and I'm 99.999% sure that all ground wires are present and correct, but I'll check again

Spousal unit out of town, F1 weekend, beer and wrenching (not wenching) what more could a guy ask for :)

Nope, that was yesterday, and we're celebrating on Saturday.
Ade, perhaps it might be helpful if you post the current status of the car here so that we can come in with more knowledge and perhaps with some theories ready to test when we get there on Sunday?
In reply to Tom_Spangler:
It wont start!!!!
Hopefully it's something dead simple.
Long history, basically I replaced pretty much everything in the ignition and vacuum system plus the ECU, fuel filter etc. The car was running with no exhaust. Then life happened for 6 months, then at Christmas I fitted the exhaust, but no bueno, no start, no play. I then closed the door until now.
So, it did run, but it's not now. Nothing has changed. It HAS to be something simple.
Plan is to get it running, add the hood, throw in the interior and asses.
Don't let me near a box of matches or gasoline!!
Actually not I think about it I'll grab some fresh gas.
Yeah, my first thought was that I had something similar with Ugly, and it was crud in the gas tank that ended up clogging the injectors. I assume your tank is original?

I'm picturing a bunch of guys passed out in the front yard . Sounds like fun! As my wife likes to say, men without adult supervision.
I'm on call this weekend, or I'd try to join you guys Sunday.
So anyone coming my address is in the village of Beverly Hills. The zip for your GPS is 48025.
Within this village there is a lane, not a street or a road named Mayfair. Personally my favorite house on this lane has the number 31787
If you're lost call me on two48 6eight6 8seven4seven.
Cheer all
The good news is it's running. We did one lap of the neighborhood. The bad news is it has a blown head gasket. Don't know what I'm going to do now. We put most of the Interior in.
Considering just selling it.
Big thanks to the guys who helped.
