It will be here Thursday!!
Cool! go get your 6' Argon bottle, tungsten, filler rod and deer skin gloves today because when it arrives you will want to play with it.
That looks like the same case and front panel (with a couple extra rocker switches) as my Eastwood TIG 200. I wonder if they source the welder from the same place or just the box it comes in.
I would recommend a smaller bottle because you WILL forget to close it at least once and return to an empty bottle next time you go to use it.
Awesome! I've gotten my stick welding to the point where my welds don't look like crap, I think it's time to move up to a mig or tig unit
Yeah, this is for my business so I will have expert assistance in setup and such. My designer (also engineer, machinist, mechanic, etc....) has a spare bottle so all I need is the rods, filler and maybe some gloves.
Holy crap. that's a pretty good deal for what you get. I don't think it's the same as the Eastwood TIG, as they don't use IGBT inverters, which are allegedly better. I've got the Everlast MicroTig 185, and am very happy with it, but paid about $100 more than you did, don't have 110v capability, and don't have 2T/4T adjustability. Don't know what other features they have, but if it's moderately reliable, you've got a great setup.
On the Argon note, get as big a bottle as you can- the cost to fill large vs small is pretty negligible (not proportional to the amt of gas in the bottle)- just make sure you leak test the system, as it can get expensive.

Not bad for 719 shipped
As much as I like to patronize the domestics, some of this Asian stuff works mighty well. That looks like a nice unit, and the feedback is strong. Good on you!
I remember when I learned to TIG weld. I proudly brought my beautiful fillet to the instructor who promptly tore it apart with his hands. I remember him saying something along the lines of "It's easy to make pretty welds if you don't care about penetration". ouch!

Just as a heads up, some of the import brands are sponsoring forums then removing bad reviews. <- still isn't sure what he wants for his first welder. Tig/Mig? Import/Domestic?
This one seems to be pretty universally liked. I am sure that a number of brands are doing it but I am not sure this is one of them.
I would rather have bought a miller/lincoln but couldn't justify the expense.
If I keep reading glowing reviews I may pick one up for my basement. I have access to a Syncrowave at work, but it would be nice to have a small AC/DC machine at home.

Better yet: TWO smaller bottles, so when you forget to close it, you can still weld....
....off to refill my bottle that I left open and could not weld with last weekend....
...maybe I need to make a sign.
