The AHR season opens tomorrow with Test n Tune day. This is a smaller region, east of Pittsburgh, that I found completely by accident. Pitt Race is almost 3 hours away from me, Summit Point and Frostburg are both under 2 hours, but here, 45 minutes. So if your Saturday is open, you want some extra seat time, or you didn't know this even existed, here is the schedule for the year. As of now, July is still open, from what I understand they're looking for a venue.

All events are held at WyoTech in Blairsville unless otherwise noted.

April 30 - Test n Tune

May 21 May 22

June 11 June 12

July - TBD

August 13 August 14

September 10 September 11

October 8 - Driver's Challenge

Daily Schedule for Events:

Registration – 9:00am-10:30am

Car Tech – 9:00am-10:30am

Novice Walkthrough @ 10:30am

Drivers Meeting @ 10:45am

First car off @ 11:00am

So if like me, Pitt Race is too far away, or you just have the weekend off in another region, come ride with AHR.

Talking to people who've been there before, first car goes off at 11, and if you skip the fun runs, you can be done by 1pm.

I know there aren't a lot of people on the forums local to me. But if you're traveling through, or NOT going to Carlisle this year, our first official event is next Saturday the 21 and second event the next day. Just thought I'd bump a reminder, try to increase the turnout.

We usually get 6 timed runs plus fun runs afterwords. First car off at 11am, done by 130 if you don't stick around for fun runs.

I had the white NA miata with the black headlights that everybody was throwing around. it will have at least a primered trunk by next autocross.

I don't remember seeing your car at test n tune, we might not have met yet.

I wasn't at test-n-tune, but I was the original secretary. It's good to see you promoting the club. Thanks.

In reply to snailmont5oh:

As original Secretary, thank you for making it possible. I found the region by accident on racepa.com, which really doesn't get much traffic these days, so I'm happy to spread the word.

Everyone I've met so far has been very helpful and friendly, especially after being handed my keys.

Just wanted to bump this and remind the people in the area AHR is running Saturday and Sunday at Wyotech, if you're not going to the Carlisle show and are in the area. Although, Steel Cities is also running at PIRC on Sunday, this might be a bit closer for you.

Saturday and Sunday are looking like rain, and but we'll still be running if you're looking for something to do this weekend.

Sunday the Allegany Porsche club is hosting an event at Greensburg Jeanette airport as well, but for any of you I think Blairsville is an easier option to find.

Just wanted to throw up a reminder if anyone is in the area this weekend, Saturday and Sunday are our last point events for the season, weather is questionable, but should be a good show.

Drivers challenge and trophy celebrations October 8th,and if we can't find a good donor vehicle, my miata will be fitted with BALD tires for a "drift" donation.

Might get another lesson in understeer from the cracked out lotus as well.

Saturday is our final event of the season, featuring the driver's challenge. While I've not been informed of the vehicle involved, I have seen the course. It's pushing 50 seconds for power cars, should be interesting.

I'm also posting early because I'm looking for someone to drive the miata. There is a chance, albeit small, that we could do some lead follow with the Vic at the end of the day, and I'd like the miata there just in case. It's also nice to see other people do better than me in my own car...

You'll need to log in to post.
