So currently the garage consists of an '08 LR3 and '99 Miata. In the past, I've always had a weird and negative perception about the NC Miata until I sat in one the other day and it feels like it would be a pretty good daily driver. There's a local (original owner) who took care of it from day 1 and is moving onto an ND2 soon so I have a chance to snag this. The real question is....am I crazy for wanting to own both of these Miatas? Space and money aren't issues, but it just feels like I wouldn't be able to drive both of them enough.
Try it and see if one sits a lot. It it does, then sell one. I know multiple people with more than one Miata. I'm considering buying an ND and if I do, I'll keep my current NB for winter duty.
I'd like to have a NC for a daily and my NA for fun.

Not at all...
At one point, we were up to four, and I'm pretty sure we're amateurs when it comes to Miata hoarding. We're down to 2 now, race car and street car.
I was never a big NC fan until we owned one. NCs are a great DD Miata, especially if it's a PRHT, which ours was. The NC is a really good chassis, and is transformed by some mild suspension work, as they're very soft from the factory. Ours was my wife's DD, and we took it on several road trips, and even did some light track work.
The NC will feel way more modern than your NB, but will still retain the characteristics that make a Miata a Miata. It's not as spartan and pure as an NA, though neither is an NB. IMHO the perfect mix would be a clean NA and a PRHT NC if I were going to have two Miatas for the street.
I've got an NB1 for my primary autocross car, and plan to keep it as long as I can drive. I would love to have a prepped NC for a track car. And a stock one to daily.

It's funny, I was thinking of making the NB1 as my autocross car and this NC as a daily or track car. I guess I'm not so strange after all based on all of these responses...excellent.

Street Miata + race Miata FTW...

I did race an NA Spec Miata for a bit. I do miss that thing. My friend has a mint rust free NA Miata that is sitting in his garage in pieces because he hasn't had time to work on it because of two recent kids being born. The temptations are everywhere.
You are asking people that practically hoard Miata's. We are probably not a good data point for this. But if you want to be enabled, you are in the right place! Personally, I'm all for it.

Lol, I've had as many as 3 of my own and a 4th parked at the house for a few months at once and I think 7 in the family over the years. Down to 1 currently do to many of life's complications. The answer is miata(s).
I don't see a problem. There's going to be an ND joining this crew at some point.
We're enablers. What was the question?
Irrelevant! We already know 'the answer'.
Can you have too much answer?
For now, it seems like I'll be having the following allocation:
'08 LR3: Daily Driver/Utility/Whatever
'99 Miata: Autocross
'09 Miata: Track Car
We'll wait and see. I may or may not get rid of the LR3 and replace it with an '11 E90 I've been eyeing for a very long time.
You came *here* to ask this question? I hope you didn't expect us to talk anybody out of multiple Miatas...
What good is sanity anyway?
I mean.....have you read some of the stuff we want to/have/want to/will buy on here?
Other than space and maybe cost, I'm trying to see the negatives to having multiple Miatas. Are there any?

Hell I used to have three Neons. Multiple Miatas seems kinda mainstream.
In reply to alfadriver :
Let's see; a comfy Miata, a vintage Miata and a track day Miata / race Miata.
Seems like multiple Miatas is the way to go.

My wife's been giving me grief about my collection/revolving door of cars so I needed another source to confirm my sanity :)
Are there more than two people in your household that may need to go somewhere at the same time? The answer is multiple Miatas!

Well there's my wife who doesn't know how to drive manual and owns a 2022 RAV4. No need for her here

Sanity is the prerogative of boring normal people who don't understand the need of owning at least one Miata in every colour made.
You have more than one pair of shoes, right?
