We need more mixing together of music and motorsports.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
It seems to work for IndyCar in Nashville for the Music City Grand Prix. It definitely brings in music fans that would otherwise not be familiar with the sport.
Sarah and I once saw Blue Öyster Cult (aka Soft White Underbelly) before an IMSA race in Austin.

Uhhh...Gridlife?
I’m thinking way more, like why not have a band play at our autocrosses? A friends’ surf band once played at the Jax cars and coffee, and it was perfect.
And sharing just because:

Oh I like this game. I'll share, too:
Also wish I could make it out to this festival.

A few years ago ADIDAS released a set of RUN DMC Superstars......I didn't see them until they were already out of my size.
After the pandemic started and I sold the NC, I went on a shoe buying spree. I think I currently have about 14 pairs of ADIDAS in the closet.

So, a little off topic, but I took rollerskating for P.E. in college. We had to meet at the rink at 8:00 in the morning. Technically the class started at 7:50, but the instructor cut us some slack since it was summer. This was the only 7:50 class I ever took, by the way.
Anyway, like every morning, this was playing over the P.A.

Story time...
Many years ago, Ann and I were touring Europe with a stop at the old medieval walled city of Rothenburg. As we neared the town, we noticed a couple of tastefully modded cars with number boards on the side. Hmmm...
So we followed them over to a huge parking lot where we found an autocross in session. We parked and mingled...and even tried to enter (no dice). The crazy part is that there was a big tent with an Oom-pah brass band playing bavarian folk music the whole time and beer flowing like water. At a motorsports event. And drivers were partaking, not just spectators.
Basically, OktoberFest meets Cars and Cones.
Yes, make it a party.
My friend has an Oktoberfest in the works for his shop–basically an excuse to hang out, chat and eat. I’m assuming there will be German food.
We have a few months to line up some music...

I was at that race weekend and concert. I remember the singer saying the following to the crowd:
"This next song was released in 1972..." and the crowd starts cheering. Then he said "Come on, most of you weren't even born then!"
And he later referenced their ages and their favorite charity is "Walkers for Rockers."
Well, I thought it was funny enough to stick in my brain through all these years.
COTA does a lot of work to bring music to the F1 weekend.

That was a good day for music and car stuff. My wife and I saw BOC play here in Daytona at the local Harley dealership during Bike Week.
Been thinking of the lineup for my own motorsports party. I don’t think I can afford Maiden but I’m sure we’d still have something cool.
