The CR-Z was a Fit hybrid without the SUV-tall roofline.
One of my customers with one regularly has near 50mpg average. Not as good as an Insight but pretty good for what it is.

Honda die hard here...
Swapped an H22 and F20B into my 94 Accord. Those engines are interchangeable and here are the main components of the swap that I still have listed in my google drive. All things considered it was actually a pretty cheap swap to start.
Currently working on swapping a K24Z3 into a Miata too. That's going to be much more pricey but I've got to consider similar things and other factors of putting a FWD engine in a RWD platform. Good thing Kpower industries covers most of that.

Yes, but it should have had a K2x in it with an LSD as an Si variant for known reasons.
The CR-Z is a weird looking car.
Anyways, here's some K-Swap Fit pics;
Good video of a k24 swapped Fit absolutely blasting through the field at 2018's Gridlife Daytona Endurance race. They got 9th overall, 2nd in class.
I just went back over this post and want to say...Sorry! Apparently I can not, not write a book of a post!
Long time GRM, way before the end of the old "server"?, even though I'm listed as a newb here!
Honda guy here with only 1 K swap under my belt. But I learned a bunch of budget driven, ways of doing one!
My first, and currently only, K swap was on my 2020 GRM Challenge car.
88 CRX HF, 2008 Acura TSX K24A2 engine still DBW, 2012 Civic Si 6 speed LSD trans
I also used a complete chassis and engine harness out of a 2007 Acura TSX. Along with a 2007-08 TSX ECU, steering colum, steering wheel, ignition switch, key, Imobolizer system and OBD2 port. So the car just thinks it is a TSX.
Even though I didn't need it, because I ran out of time and no turbo... This also allowed me the ability to use a Hondata Flashpro via the OBD2 port, then unplug and remove it, so it wasn't a budget hit!
I've also quickly become a Honda Fit guy last year. From April to November I racked up over 20,000 miles and did 11 track days and one Gridlife event! Only service needed was the replacement of the front wheel bearings half way through, at over 200,000 miles on the clock. Then the time it shot spark plug number 4 out of the cylinder head at midnight in October in PA. That one was my fault! I preach about the "check the torque on your spark plugs" deal on the Honda Fits! But hadn't checked mine since swapping in the junkyard motor about 23,000 miles earlier!
I'm currently looking for 2 more second gen/ge8 Honda Fit Sports. One Auto and one more Manual.
The Manual one is going to receive the full 2012 Civic Si K23Z7/6 speed LSD swap I pulled from the junkyard.
The Sport auto will get a 2009-2014 Acura TSX automatic swap. I want to utilize the sport mode and paddle shifters on the steering wheel in the Fit, just like the same setup in a TSX. I know from experience that the stock TSX and Fit Sports, in Sport mode when using the steering wheel paddles, will hold what ever gear you select. Meaning it will bounce off the rev limiter all day and not force an upshift! Super handy for track days!
I've done 6 track days in my 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon with the K24Z3/Auto setup. That wagon is a lot of fun on track! It handles like a heavy long wheelbase EF!
So this drivetrain in a great handling Fit with over 1000 lbs less weight, with Honda reliability and fuel economy should be a blast! I'm positive that the auto trans will require some notching/clearance work vs a manual. But there are a number of folks out there that, for multiple reasons, can not drive a manual! It would be good to have auto K swap options out there for them!
Again...sorry for the book of a post!
Dude amazing.
The idea of doing the paddle shifter auto is awesome. My wife would be happy if I did that. I wonder how difficult it would be for me to swap my "normal" automatic for the paddle shifter setup?

Yes. Second running customer KMiata car ever. Lots of early-adopter fun to get that swap running. Broke an ARP rod bolt with a low run time pro-built 300hp motor on an out lap at COTA at low rpm. Made no sense. Likely an assembly error, since my triage showed the other bolts with varying stretch amounts. Not going to out the builder, but I did stop buying their shortblocks and went back to building them myself.
Ran some Optima events with it a few years later, tubbed the inner fenders to run massive wheels/tires (285 on 10.5). Rules changed and I started down the turbo path until I got bit by the British supercar bug and then it sat. Eventually sold to a gent in WI who was going to continue its Optima path, but is now trying to sell it again. If anyone is interested, I can put you in contact.

I've driven that car...Champ Car at Barber. Can confirm it is a riot.
For those who expressed interest in my old KMiata...bad news for you. Owner is keeping it....which is great news for me, as he is continuing down the path I was headed when I transferred ownership. Turbo, fresh engine, BMW ABS brakes, electric PS, etc. So cool.
I also scored the old manual steering rack...these are unobtanium. Will come in handy for a future project.
