I'm about to tackle this job on wifey's Ody -- POS only lasted 196k miles, LOL. any tips / tricks / secrets to making the job go quickly and painlessly?

leave the battery hooked up, and maybe you'll get a nice electrical arc that will light it on fire and you won't have to worry about changing it.

i took an even easier route than that. threw the bike in the back, drove it to AutoLab. i don't pay people to work on my stuff very often, but this is one time i'm willing to do it.

this morning's call from the garage is a brutal reminder of why i do all my own work. six hundred thirty one dollars to R&R the alternator and alt/ac belt.
