I looked and best I saw was a 200k mile NSX with a poor paintjob/interior color choice asking 30k (could probably get for say 25k, which is quite interesting).
But alas, the car is actually located in louisiana/texas border. So that's really a south north trip and not really a west east trip.
SO how about a car that's been parked for 10 years but the engine turns over?

it will be over 100F much of the way , so you really need to make sure the cooling system is 100% ,
Take pictures
I drove a '64 Corvair convertible most of Rt 66 in July about 12 years ago. So there's one benchmark.
Anyone know if this is still for sale?

i'd sell mine for half that and my engine is bigger
Yeah, I'm just day dreaming. I can't afford much at the moment. But I will admit that I searched the surrounding area for Super Charged Jaaags at or under Challenge Budget. (Thankfully nothing showed up )

My lawd
I'd love a '73-'80 Chevy truck...

I'm not sure what "serious rust" means in Cali talk, but this looks decent.

1978 needs a smog check in California , so that keeps the price down if it will not pass,
more pics needed but it does not look bad.....PS....we are spoiled !
How about a nice sensible Lincoln?

I actually just emailed them to offer that service.
We can vouch for you!. Though having random GRM message Board members say trust this guy with your car you can trust us! May not help.
Well I have a car that I'm picking up from LA in early July but I'm looking too forward to the drive back to Denver to let someone else do it!!
Well I have my 2011 Volvo C30...It has $700 in back fees due to the California DMV, so if you take it out of state, it would be worth $700 more.
I did have someone offer me $2,000 for it, but he found it would cost too much to have it shipped so the savings were negated.
I can't sell it any cheaper than $2,000 otherwise I will remove the drivetrain for my son's V50, but then I am left with a shell and now what?
Clears throat...
There's only one answer to this challenge.
Do it, write a book regarding the adventure, live in infamy.
Look for 1976+ vehicles that won't pass smog out here in Cali. They'll be a lot cheaper as 75 and older are exempt
In reply to californiamilleghia :
Yep. Even the threat of a smog check probably makes folks run away.
Nice thing is, you can almost literally pick up parts anywhere for this truck along the way. And it will need them.
If this truck showed up at my door, I'd peel off 20 benjamins to whoever delivered it to me....
