I was a huge fan of this car and Big Al when I was a kid.

Let's see... Allison V12. Check. Flimsy frame with no safety equipment. Check. No outward visibility from the driver's seat. Check. I love it.

Will that engine fit in a Miata?

There's only 3 hours remaining in the auction, no bids, and it's under $30k. Does anyone else think that's a pretty good deal for a car this legendary?

It not the original!! Even though it was started by the builder of the original is is still an unfinished replica.

I missed that! Okay, that explains that, but it was built by the same builder. Still a pretty cool car for decent money IMO, depending on what it would take to get it running.

looks like the drivers head pokes out of the roof in back just enough to peer over it. Totally Nutz. Its awesome.

I've seen what I'm pretty sure is the original in the Big Daddy Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum in Florida about 2 years back. It's in one back corner with an Allison powered slingshot rail.

As a kid, I TOTALLY loved that car/the original car. Neat to see that it was replicated. Very, VERY brave men drove those Altereds and Gassers and Exhibition Cars back then. With the breather masks to protect against the fuels and such, they looked, and acted like fighter pilots.

Auction describes it as a "1934 Model A." No such thing.

So did you ask them if they would take a classic Mustang and/or a TVR in trade?

+1 It's not an A. That's a 33/34 grill, though.
