Just started watching again- it's amazing that after so long, there are still 7 cars on the lead lap for GTLM. Awesome.

Back. I was up late so I slept in a bit. Hope to watch a couple hours then I have to finish up a brake line replacement project.
Finally managed to fall out of bed and get back to watching the race only to be greeted by the Mazda prototype being on fire .
Dang it I step away and I come back and we have a slightly toasted Mazda on pit road. What happened?
They don't know yet. Came into the pits with flames coming out around the rear diffuser. Stopped and there was smoke everywhere from the engine compartment.
Looked like it was leaking oil, they were dumping a lot of kitty litter and IIRC they had to close the pits.
According to the Twitbox:
Pigot had pulled down to make a scheduled pit stop when he heard/felt a big boom. No diagnosis yet.
YouTube channel Lopata is live streaming the imsa.tv broadcast, so I'm actually able to catch some of the race live. And, here I'd planned on just watching the race over the next week or so via IMSA's YouTube.
I'll post link to pictures and video I took when I get back home and have time to go through everything and get it uploaded... will take me 2 days to travel back home and will have well over 3k pictures and many hours of video to go through by the time this is over in less than 2 hours. The flyboarding demo was pretty cool... makes for great video and photography. So does wet racing...

That sounds like a few more oil ports were put in the block

Its the FSRacing channel we get in Canada. Makes it impossible to watch a show without DVR.
After all this and we now have a 30 minute sprint race. This is great. Pull them belts tight grab a cold one and hang on. This is looking to be a great finish.
Edit: And now a quick yellow to bunch everything.
Say what you want about BOP, the racing is tight! I hope Porsche is just sandbagging with the new 911 so it can do better later in the season
I say yes. I think it was accidental. The lead car checked up early and it was go inside or plow in to the back of the lead car. I have used that move as the leader. High risk. I don't think the move by the 10 car was a punt and run ot looked like an avoidance manover.
