Good luck with the insurance. My father did the same and didn't bring in his insurance when mom's car was hit when parked and the other driver's insurance said "not it".

My car was just delivered to the shop this morning. Got a nice mid size silver plain vanilla Japanese sedan of some sort. (I really don't remember what it is and I just drive it 15 miles)
Something else to make sure you look in to with the rental is insurance on the rental. Make sure you have it. Rental company's will not include it as the insurance company has not authorized payment for it. You have to provide proof that your insurance will not cover you in the rental for the insurance company to cover the cost of the insurance.
If the rental company or the insurance company that is providing the rental sais you don't need it and your insurance will cover you in the rental get that in writing form your insurance co! I know for a fact that my insurance does not cover me in a rental. (I asked me agent) I was told by my agent that the whole you are covered in a rental thing is something that has been out there for a while now and is almost not true (at least with my insurance company)
At the end of the day just make sure that you verify this with you insurance company and don't take the word of the other insurance company or the rental company. At the end of the day they will not be the ones having to pay if the rental gets damaged.

Crap, I have no idea if my rental is covered or not, and I've been driving the heck out of that thing. Might tuck it away in the garage til my Saturn is done which should be any day now. This whole fiasco has me completely paranoid of insurance companies.
